Ok, I'll be honest. I chose songs performed by artists I know and like, and I've even seen most of them live 😄

However, all of the songs have charts that are good for playing in the championship.

Bruce Springsteen - Glory Days

Song written and performed by American rock singer Bruce Springsteen. In 1985, it became the fifth single released from his 1984 album Born in the U.S.A. It is one of the hit singles from that album, which had a strong musical influence at the time.

Kings of Leon - Sex on Fire

Song by American rock band Kings of Leon. It was released on August 11, 2008, as the lead single from their fourth studio album, Only by the Night. It is the band's most popular song, reaching #1 on the charts in several countries. From what I can see, the song was played in the championship a long time ago, but it was a different CDLC, which is no longer in the database.

Riverside - Saturate Me

A song by the Polish band Riverside, well-known in the progressive rock community. From their 2015 album Love, Fear and the Time Machine. The songs of this band usually have good playing charts for both guitar and bass, which is quite extensive, and are composed by the band's leader, bassist and vocalist Mariusz Duda.

This is an old CDLC, but like probably all Albatross custom releases, it doesn't deviate from modern standards in quality. At the end of the guitar line, there could be handshapes instead of arpeggios, but that's not really a big deal. The lead and rhythm have almost the same chart, differing only by a small number of notes in the middle section. I'm almost certain this song was suggested by someone on the selection list; I even tested it earlier, but it was removed, which is strange, because we haven't played it.

Arch Enemy - To The Last Breath

A new song by the Swedish melodic death metal band, the first single with a new vocalist. I have to admit, this surprised me, because I was at their concert a few months ago, which turned out to be one of their last with their previous vocalist. It's a shame because I thought she was good 😉

Camel - Down on the Farm

One of my favorite bands, highly regarded in the progressive rock community. They composed a lot of good songs, so I'm always happy when some CDLCs of their songs appear on Ignition. "Down on the Farm" is a song from the 1978 album "Breathless." Here, we only have bass path, but it's fun to play!

Avenged Sevenfold - Waking the Fallen

Waking the Fallen is the second studio album by American heavy metal band Avenged Sevenfold, released on August 26, 2003. It is the band's first full-length album with new lead guitarist Synyster Gates and bassist Johnny Christ. The album was certified platinum in the US in 2021. Avenged Sevenfold songs often appear in championships, so I'm sure many participants will be happy to have the full album to play 🤩

The setlist this week is incredible. Every track is great, and they all have interesting things to work on. I can tell I’m going to have a blast this week. I’ll also try the full album.

Here are my first lead attempts.

I swear to god, I was just inches away from getting a 100% on last weeks bass track. But then I learned you guys keep the same strings on for years, and I had to lie down for a whole day.

Don't take this the wrong way, but I'm gonna lay down for a bit... ;)

But seriously, you should try putting a fresh set on. I find that the difference between worn out strings and a just-broken-in set (so not fresh-fresh, just about couple of hrs of playing is the sweet spot for me) is colossal. Both in terms of sound and my enjoyment of playing.

Now, i understand that everybody's got their own preferences, but holy shit, years? It just doesn't compute for me.

Actually, I'm probably too lazy. I used to change my guitar strings frequently because my e or B string would break when I bending. Surprisingly, it hasn't happened in over a year, so I still play the same ones. Maybe it has to do with the fact that I now use a second guitar with thicker strings for lower tunings, so my main guitar is mainly used for E Std, Eb Std, and occasionally D Std. So the strings are loosened and re-tensioned less often.

Kings Of Leon - Sex on Fire. Need some practice. 4^ is a lot for B I think.

Bruce Springsteen - Glory Days. Bass is interesting to play. R is terrible. L is neither one thing nor the other...

Riverside - Saturate Me. Something hard in R in the beginning. Next something playable. Fingering part in the end is not playable. L is like the R.

Arch Enemy - To The Last Breath. Tone sounds very quiet.

Avenged Sevenfold - Waking The Fallen Full Album. Hard. It sounded disgusting. A lot of noise from me. I have no feeling all over. My legs, my arms, my butt.

Camel - Down On The Farm. Fun.

better on 2nd tries... put my focus on the vocals for probably the first time listening to it... really had to laugh ol

those boys..... hmmm making long tracks of music i don´t really understand, somehow surfing the waves of the deep paths of Opeth and Dreamtheater of witch boths music is more complex, yet more straight forward feeling and easier to listen to for me...hmmmm

However this track is great to play - exactly my diff level, i should be able to learn to master that (if there were not sooo many other brilliant pieces of music that week also) luxury is pain.

Oh my.... maybe i shall keep playing that week for the next month or two.

My music. Would be even more intense with the old singer or Britta Görtz, but very cool song in any way.

Hi, think i gonna accept that promotion to rithm masterclass, if you think i still deserve it, of course...

ignore my previous fix suggestion for the intel driver issue, seemed to have worked then it started to lag again after 10-15mins... after trying literally everything, buffer sizes in focusrite and voicemeter and rocksmith.ini and rs_asio and reinstalling all drivers etc.... solution was... disable Intel drivers

I'll download it and give it a go! I still got a week to try. I just know the Leon song so I wanted to play it. 🎸
I played it a bit on my other pc so can't say it was first try. I even had video somewhere. I play a bit of guitar, I don't really know what my level is on bass yet. Trying out on pick so far, gonna practice a lot more to play with fingers.

I'm not sure what you're referring to exactly, some promotion from the past that you didn't accept earlier? 🤔

Last week, rhythm path was rated too low to meet the requirements for promotion when you achieve 99%.

I saw you rated it a 3 in the suggestion, but I bumped it up to a 4 because those fast jumps require some feel for the frets. Especially the 16th to the 9th E string. I think it would be easier if there was an 11th on the A string, then it would be more like a 3. I think I might change that to a 3.5 depending on the players feelings.
