🎶🎸🌘 CHAMPIONSHIP NIGHT!!!!

YEEAAHHH!!! 😎🤩😎🤩
THANK YOU @cacahuate51 for this week!!! Here having a third beer after playing and I do a toast for you man!! 🍻

It wasn't a great score, but I am happy I won Rhy ADV last week! However, I realized that my former colleagues all level up!!! 🤣

Molly Hatchet - Double Talker

I think the Lead is correctly rated 7, meaning it is extremely hard for me!!!

I am late to the party, so just played this one for two days... I was planning to focus on the bass and I am not into 80s rock that much, but this is actually really fun pentatonic song to play!!!

At the moment, can't do better than this...

Small improvement and got rid of the dreaded red X

And that's the week! Thanks for playing! I will be posting the new week shortly.

Fun week this week and I actually have some time for some suggestions for the first time in ages, just for Busted though, think I did Megadeth not too long ago.

Think I missed one note, maybe two but was a nice little song, very good beginner/introduction-to-Rocksmith one. Just couldn't be bothered going back to it to be honest.

Now this is probably a biased opinion seeing as I grew up with Busted but as far as I'm concerned this cover is one of the worst things I've ever heard, gave up trying after the lyrics changed in second verse; it all just felt very...Disney-fied which was probably the point seeing as the Jonas Brothers are a Disney creation. Anyway, enough of the negativity because thankfully we also had...

As I said above, I grew up with Busted so they hold a special place in my heart. Think they came on the scene when I was 8 or 9 and you couldn't escape them growing up in Ireland. They've had a come back recently, played Download festival 2 years ago (maybe 3, can't remember off of the top of my head!) and from what I saw it was a blast and also had a run were they teamed up with the another band of that era called McFly, forming McBusted who my wife actually saw a few times.

Main person of note from the band would be Charlie Simpson who was sort of the poster boy, he went on to front Fightstar who have a few good songs, my favourite one being their cover of Iron Maiden's Fear of the Dark. More recently though, he's the front man for the band President who have come out of nowhere, they're more inline with Sleep Token than anyone else in my opinion.

Anyway, Busted songs for those who want to check out some more:

  1. What I Go To School For

  2. You Said No

  3. Sleeping With The Light On

  4. Air Hostess

  5. Crashed The Wedding

They also have a greatest hits album, Greatest Hits 2.0, were they have teamed up with guest bands such as Bowling For Soup and Neck Deep, worth checking out as well.

I must say, I thoroughly enjoyed this song, going to check out more from them going forward. Only issue though was that I found the chart made the song harder than it actually was. Don't get me wrong, the solo chewed me up and spat me out but many of the little fills were charted harder than they needed to be. Best example would be the quick section fairly early on which had you playing 5 pull-off to 3 on the G and then 5 on the D when it was far easier to just go 5 pull-off to 3 pull-off to Open, all on the G. Doesn't take away from the song though, again, really enjoyed it!

Looks like thrashy Megadeth are back on the menu! I had heard one of the other songs from this album, I Don't Care, and to be honest, I agreed with Dave Mustaine after listening to that one but this was a really nice surprise. The solos were crazy which is always expected but the riffs were really, really good.

Enough rambling from me but you've all had a break from having to read my musings for a few weeks (or months!) at this stage.

Best of luck with your scores everyone!

@drand just saw you posted the new week, I thought it was 7pm GMT but looking back through the comments I see @cacahuate51 has it as 7pm CET. Funny thing is that if I hadn't rambled for the first time in ages I would've made the cut off! Ah well, live and learn, looking forward to trying out the new songs, definitely looks interesting

Just let @cacahuate51 finally stop lowering the ratings 😆

This is a bit about the bass tracks, because I think both 3000 songs are underrated and overall it's a similar difficulty to the Molly Hatchet song rated 4.5.

For me 3000 was maybe even a little more difficult because the Molly Hatchet chart is generally easy and the only (slight) difficulty is the parts of switching the A - G strings.

20260110010034-1.jpg

20260110005423-1.jpg

20260110115510-1.jpg

And if this is not GoB, then hardly anything is. Assuming, of course, that we want to play this correctly using the slap & pop technique, because ignoring it is easier.

hmm ill give the 3 another go, i do remember testing lots of songs inbetween so that may be why the lvls are off (although i do generally have them lower than other hosts) But im always up to balancing lvls if people leave ratings :)

Hey @cacahuate51 how do you do that multiple picture shrink thingy again ??

its different now:
Select the corner edge of the picture and drag the mouse to resize it or if you click the gear button upper right and press width you can enter the pizels you want it, usually 450 allows you to have 2 per row

oof shoulder injuries suck cause they sometimes dont let you sleep, what happened to it? Good to see you still gave a song a shot though, hope you recover soon!

I injured my right shoulder blade/rotator cuff in 2020, closing my car boot. It's been on and off for 5 years, I've seen a GP/Doctor but no luck getting it sorted, then a few weeks I was on the punch bag at the gym threw a hook and I felt a tear in the front of my right shoulder, sadly it's the same punch bag I tore my achilles tendon on whilst punching and getting out of range. I think that punch bag at the gym has it out for me.

5 years?! thats crazzy! here i thought it was just a semi recent thing. You shouldve just befriended a doctor or a chiropractor. If you are 1985 i think it shouldve healed ok, but you do have to guide it or else like you experienced, the discomfort will continue.

what amazes me is that you went after the same bag that broke your achilles tendon 😅. With it breaking mine i wouldve been like yup not doing that EVER again.

But then again i do admire boxers or even skateboard players that do have that determination to keep doing it. Although i do presume they actually heal up before trying again but you never know. One thing is for certain the punchbag will be waiting for you lol.

I tore my achilles tendon throwing a 1-2 and just getting out of range from the bag (a basic boxing drill), a freak accident, really funny though, that was back in July. Then now I can go back to the gym I don't move as much as my achilles hasn't fully healed yet but I can walk around no issues just no running. Then I've been bag to the gym going steady just building my stamina back up I try and do 10 x 2 minute rounds on the bag, switching stances each round, I throw a right hook and I feel a tear in the front of my shoulder and numbness down my right arm to the palm of my hand. I can still do everything just the strength has gone.

The 5 year injury, I've had scans, injections seen specialists but nothing really has come from it never effected my guitar playing, though I'm to see an expert this week.

Just happens, now I'm over 40 I'm picking up alot of injuries very quickly.
