Well... That's actually a problem for because I personally can't play any of the songs (shame on me) without RS. You can beat me with sticks and throw stones at me. So I'll stand aside and take a look.

There is a sensational MUSE version with CDLC out there and of course there is the ODS - of Rocksmith 1 from the Animals. Also a Ventures and a 5FDP version - so everyone should be stuffed to cover his playing style.

Pics will do it! Most probably it´s your fret hand position - mostly caused by the thumb placing.
What´s needed to shred is to 

put your thumb opposite your II finger or even finger III (if you need maximum stretch) on the 

same height as your fingertips. Yes when you change or skip strings your thumb will follow your fingertips in height. Yes your very fingertips should be pressing the strings against the frets, very lightly (you wanna be able to play for a long time).

On the second picture, it seems the pinkie can reach further but then my index feels being pulled over the fret. Also I took this position not while playing, my thumb is kind of locked I don't think I would be able either to take this position nor to move away from it

Consider that recording a street-musician performance.... i knew i had only an hour for all and i wanted to upload something today - so i loaded the chords in front of me and decided to not use any aid like backing tracks or artificial drums but to to all on my own and go first takes 🙂
Recorded a bassline first (no metronome), just having the bass being played on screen and watching the tab.
Then first take on a rhythm guitar - i love that acoustic of mine yeah... it´s funny to play with a basist that is not steady cause this idiot is refusing to use a metronome - that´s where the streetmusician feel originates heavily.
First take on a arpeggio guitar and dumped that instantly 🙂

First take on the vocals (sorry)
ending solo first take - as i was ultrafast redid that one 2,3 times wishing i had sticked to the 1st take....
1st take on the artwork
Damn fun and i know to play a new song
I am looking forward to spend a whole day someday on a upcoming one.

To be honest, when stretching my fingers I also position the thumb as you showed in the first picture. It was only when @ Rodman  showed how he does it that I started testing his method. It does indeed allow you to stretch your fingers a bit more, but if you want to grab the entire fret with your index finger and not just 1 string, the thumb automatically goes to the left.

Really good cover @ Rodman , this sounded quite professional! You have an interesting voice tone, at first it reminded me of Roger Waters, but I think it's quite suitable for psychedelic rock, metal or something like that 😉

To be honest that is soooooo hard for me too... for over 10 years i was used to have the thumb just SOMEWHERE... left, up .... exactly like you show and describe. Also there is no rule that you NEED to have it back there but i did a lot of research and the master shredders i listen to are sure it´s the best position for them and they teach it too. And as Miks encountered it also i can reach much further and it also looks more natural cause the fingetips point towards the thumb there as a center.  It´s so hard to change a habit. What did the job for me is take an excercise with only one hand position on only one string, still using all 4 fingers to fret like the Speed building Excercise 1and play that every day first forcing my thumb to stay and getting used to that being "right".... It took 4 weeks - good thing thumb goes there now by itself and that also helps playing with the figertips.

For Powerchords - when fretting all strings with the index the thumb goes exactly to the oposite of the index (II) finger. One important tip - you should fret AS LIGHTLY AS POSSIBLE to still get the desired tone (also the thumb shall not press hard) - i pressed far too hard all the time - fretting lightly gives you much more endurance, your fingers get less tired. Also you should hold your pick very lightly (that´s another topic)

Ah... just strum along the song, counting or not - you´ll land in a 6 or 3 rhythm of some kind. Really waiting for your and hopefully a lot of other interpretations.

Oh thx m8! Well - i still have problems listening to my own singing.... feels strange but i won´t stop so i´ll get used to it and hopefully i´ll also learn a bit what not to do there, will do the best to come up with some psycho rock vibe soon. Yeah - it´s really cool to see how all that CS practice translates into offline playing. To see clearly for myself i mostly stick to acoustic here cause it´s another cup of coffee completely. It also helps the other way around. When i was satisfied with registering a lick now i listen to my playing more and try to set the standard to that rather. Really hope you also find the time to do the one or the other!

Not too difficult except solo.

Good to see Seventh Wonder again in the selection, I played this a while back when I was playing a lot of their songs.

But really liked the versions of House of the Rising Sun, specially the Five Finger Death Punch version

I can tear out the hair on my head to get 100% of course... But I got a haircut today and tearing process might be complicated... So the final result I guess is:

Ouch .... i fear the Boys would force me to answer. It might sound Oktoberfesty (Germany) but this is true Austrian Beertent vibe.

Which is pretty much the same except we skip the showpart 🤣 ...... you won´t find that kind of shit:

It´s a bit less hypocritical - people are a lil bit less spruced up from the beginning...

... they behave badly right from the beginning, get drunk as hell maybe even quicker and the music can be a tad better overall

Ahh I bought a used acoustic guitar and spent all day trying to fix it.. dead frets around 12 on the high E making me lose my mind. Should have known it was too good to be true,  I think i'll take it to a luthier tomorrow and see what they can do for me. At least I got some experience adjusting the truss rod.
