Callouses might be exaggerated 🤭. Three fingers on my left hand (I'm right-handed) have a sensitivity now that's unusual. Nothing really visible but they tingle when they touch something.

Ah, the Pitch Fork is something that's been on my radar, and reading the documentation yesterday, I see it can do semi-tones. Interesting too about the RSModsPlus thingy, because indeed, at the moment, the need to drop would only be for RS (I don't want to fall in the pedals rabbit hole... I follow topics such as NAM v2 and its adoption by stomp boxes manufacturers, I keep an eye on X Tone, lots of temptations, I'm resisting all these so far 🤞)

I'm practicing about an hour a day on RS, and then opening a method to read notes, or watch a technique on YT. Being new to this, RS still has a lot of appeal and I feel progress (just to name one, on rythm consistency for notes that repeat 10-20 times)

Lots of info below - having a transpose device really makes it so much more fun to just switch tunings -

On the Motorhead song, I thought that I could also not change tune on my bass, but hit fret #2 when RS asks for #3. It worked before but it fails whenever the song needs an empty string, and even more so when it's the E string on my 4 strings bass.

I have a Line 6 HX effects that I recently got for a great price on FB marketplace, and I use the Poly Capo for full semitone shifts, like Eb, D, C# etc. I recently discovered there is also a Poly Pitch that you can shift a percentage of an interval, I used that last week for the A445 song, and it worked really well. Tons of effects and fun stuff to learn about and shape your tone with the HX.

After that I have begun to experiment with moving away from the Rocksmith Custom Tones and using my hardware or other software to get good guitar tones. I was running my UA Lion 68 with the HX effects in dual paths - a dry route with pitch shift panned left to the interface, then the right path on the HX with drive, reverbs etc. out to my power amp and 2x12 cab. Turn the guitar volume to zero in Rocksmith and monitor the game audio (sans guitar) through my normal monitors.

Last night I started experimenting with VB matrix and Two Notes Genome (basic version is free) Discover GENOME 2.0 - Two notes (has a transpose feature in the paid desktop version) and was somewhat successful routing audio from physical hardware to virtual ASIO devices and separating the Genome output and Rocksmith output independently. (Had a couple hiccups if I switch away from Rocksmith window). I have the Genome Desktop version, was a free upgrade because Two Notes Wall of Sound was included with my interface way back.

Tonight I am going to try Reaper with ReaRoute installed to see what I can do. Reaper can also do the transpose. If I get it working I will put a setup guide up. I think the link on reddit that may be similar.

I don't even know how to use custom skins or tones in RS yet, so that's another lead for me. The modelers market seems to be evolving so much, I've a lot to learn on the RS side while the market matures.

RSMods also has an automatic screenshot functionality that's perfect for the championship

@Emmy-Dell has a good point that if you are using the Rocksmith cable it's best to use the Speaker setting instead of the Drop setting because while RS ASIO (an audio interface) works direct, it works through the tones with the cable so you miss out on those in-song tone changes in that mode!!

😂 not just me then

i took a break from the competition when i woke up one morning and couldnt feel my ring or pinky finger anymore... so im familiar with the 2 finger technique 😅 hence playing bass in secret for a bit... until finally 2 yrs later had a surgery for a possible cancer lump in my arm... day after surgery... full motion again 🤷‍♂️

I'd love to work outside Rocksmith, I do the occasional books but with my mind set, I like to bounce of people in person where I can talk to people, bounce ideas off

Ahh I am not sure didn't think about that!! RS ASIO just got an update to work with Proton is all I know but couldn't find anything for RSMods that says
