@drand thanks for the week and exposing us to something we may not normally play.
Played through most and only posting where I surpassed @Rodman . Then I am focusing on the Advanced Bonus Track - cause that is the song that speaks to me (OG Texas Boy - temporarily displaced in CA) Was already in my playlist.

I think 8.5 is fine as well, doesnt mean it cant be in the gog slot but it does seem to be on par with last weeks masterclass songs i think dificculty wise (maybe even easier?) . I don't think theyll 99% it this week but im sure vegs will give a 95+ result :P

man it took a quite some time to get through this bunch, so i can only imagine how long it took you to prepare :P very cool and fun week, thanks Drand!

yeah nice to play on bass even if it doesnt change the whole song 😅 had lots of guilty pleasures from katy perry. And yea imo, if the sza song wouldve been like this with less rapping probably would keep it .

I might've cheated here? For me the 10s dont register that well so i just moved all the chords to the yellow string in my head and played it there since i noticed it was just gonna repeat alot. Also might be just a mental thing, but i do think its easier on the yellow strings s (although i understand why its tabbed on the thicker strings)

seems more of a kareoke track since i dont think theres a guitar in the original? Which is fine, just wasnt a fan of the path tbh. bruno definately also has alot of good songs and grew on to me (i like his funk songs more though/newer stuff). Got a bit confused when i had to strum the guitar differently to the shaker thing.


Glad this song got picked :) there were several weeks i tried to put it up for a week, even on halloween week and was considering it for this valentines. Tough to rate this one cause the hard part is just the arpeggios and my guess is it wouldnt be that hard if you are used to them, which im not. Especially that part where you skip a string that messes me up. I have tried this song multiple times before different profile, and i practiced it quite a bit today. I think rodmans 5.5 is probably right or even a 6? As I personally dont think i can 99 it this week.


and i think you are right drand about this path probably being better than the luther one for beginners. (because it is more full than the other song, standard chords and yea, im also biased)

ah jeni also had a couple of songs that i want to tab eventually, maybe one day.

I forgot i had made this custom, been a while. I think it couldve passed as int, pretty simple (although i will try to disect it to see if i tabbed it right) only challenging part is the slaps which i think i missed them all and still managed 99+. Appreciate you selecting two of my charts this week! Dont think thats ever happened, so 🥳 thanks :)

Just gave both Bruno Mars - Just The Way You Are and The Weeknd - Save Your Tears a complete overhaul and brought up to today's standards.

Most notable changes:
- Save Your Tears Lead has been updated to omit the synth arpeggios and to play cowboy chords through the verses. The Alt Lead arrangement is now playing those parts.

- Just The Way You Are has a new Lead path playing a slightly tweaked strumming pattern and the Dm and Bb chords are played in a different position up the neck. The Rhythm path is now extremely basic and leaves the player a lot more room to do what they want strumming wise - or to just use as like a karaoke path or whatever you please. Rhythm is also kept down around the 1st fret.

One of the songs that I first played on my 5 string bass (score shall remain undisclosed 😅 )

I feel that this one is easier to me than the intermediate ones.

This one was one of the songs that I played to try and improve my slapping (still some slaps are not recognized when I switch frets)

Since this path is diffferent from the og it might cause some issues in the leaderboards? aka it might be unfair for those with the old version as this one is easier and could be begginer path aswell as the rhythm. Think you might need to do some switching @drand and hopefully wont cause problems. (i do think React should be started later like monday each week untill theres a better solution, in case issues like these happen/ switching needs to happen. But, maybe its fixed idk)

Not sure if the automatic detection reads the time but it probably should in cases like these were its a different path aswell.

yup, a good reminder that you should revisit songs even after a "decent score" cause its easy to forget (still think this needs to be bumped up in difficulty). Interesting they removed handshapes, i kinda understand since you probably arent holding the shape when doing it / theres not really a good method in rocksmith to show some of these sweeps.

nice to see the paths are different chord positions for variations.

i guess for both paths you can kinda strum it however and be ok with it (although kinda cheating score wise)

Another crazy weekend with so many songs! Interesting theme thx @drand I think you could have skipped Lynyrd Skynyrd song, which doesn't fit the concept. Galneryus probably used it because you couldn't find another Masterclass Rhythm path, so I'll say that in the past, when I participated in championships, sometimes Rhytm Masterclass would go without a song for a week if the host couldn't find a good song for that class, so that's acceptable.

I played Galneryus song some time ago, but from what I can see, I gave Lead 8 and Rhythm 7, so in my opinion, the ratings are too high (especially compared to other songs by this band which were really difficult!)

My first scores and thoughts on difficulty ratings. I should note that I played the CDLC before the update!

This is definitely more than a 3.5 in my opinion. I'd give this 4.5, maybe even 5; there are a few awkward chord changes here, like this one:

This is definitely easier and very repeatable, so 2.5/3

Pleasant to strum in the choruses. On the other hand, the chords in the verses that (I think) have to be played with fingers are a bit uncomfortable for me, but overall this is 4/4.5.

Hmm these arpeggios are not that easy, so this is definitely a 6. But CDLC has been updated and from what Caca writes it is easier so what he writes may be irrelevant 😉

Ahh, what a hit of my childhood. I never thought I'd be playing this in Rocksmith 😄

Actually, there's one difficult short section in the chart where you have to play the bridge quickly. Other than that, it's quite easy. I wouldn't say this is much harder than a song for beginners, I'd give 5, max 5.5.

This is an old screenshot from testing so I don't remember the chart.

I used to listen to a lot of Coldplay and remember playing the CDLC of this song, but that one was from the early days of Rocksmith and required a capo, if I remember correctly. I didn't even know @cacahuate51 later made a new one! This version sounds really cool and has good quality, but I think it's hard to get a high score playing that repetitive riff.
