The theme this week? Let's get weird, let's get classic, and let's get LOUD. I went for a mix that spans cult classic musicals, legendary rock, Grammy nominees, and Japanese power metal madness. Something for everyone... and something to make everyone uncomfortable at least once. 😈

First up - "Sweet Transvestite" by The Rocky Horror Picture Show

Tim Curry in fishnets. Need I say more? This is your beginner track, but don't let that fool you - there's enough groove here to make Dr. Frank-N-Furter proud. If you can play this without doing the Time Warp at least once, you're stronger than me.

Second - "Last Child" by Aerosmith

From the legendary Rocks album (1976), this is Brad Whitford's moment to shine. That funky groove, those bluesy licks... this is Aerosmith at their swaggering best. Steven Tyler somehow rhymes "Tallahassee" with "sassafrasse" and makes it work. Absolute legend behavior.

Third - "Snowballed" by AC/DC

From For Those About to Rock (1981) - this is peak Brian Johnson. That scream at the end where he goes "SNOOOOOOOWBALLED" might actually be his vocal Everest. Pure high-energy rock that'll have you headbanging through the whole thing. Get ready for some classic Malcolm Young chord work in that breakdown.

Fourth - "Colors" by Black Pumas (Bass Advanced)

This Austin psychedelic soul duo came out of nowhere and grabbed Grammy nominations like they were handing them out for free. The live version has 250+ million views on YouTube for good reason. That bassline is GROOVE CITY. If you've heard this playing at a coffee shop recently, now you know the name.

Fifth - "Vetelgyus" by Galneryus (Masterclass)

Japanese neoclassical power metal at its finest! If you like Stratovarius, Dream Theater, or just insane guitar work, Galneryus is your new best friend. The track combines neoclassical passages, shred sections, and even some orchestral bits. Your fingers will hate you. Your ears will thank you.

I can assure you the song selection process was NOT influenced by my good friends Mr. Evan Williams or Mr. Sauza Hornitos... but my playing may have been, and quite frankly, in a good way. 🥃

only could play the first two cause im gonna go try and buy tickets for a7x tonight, hopefully i get in although really im just going because i want to see A day to remember as ive already watched a7x before



i know its just blues chords but seems a bit hard for me, i think 3 or even higher to a 4... in both paths as itll be tricky to 100% cause of all the slides, and it moves around quite a bit, theres even one chord in rhythm thats like 5 10 which seems really hard.


bassline seems very familiar maybe it was used on another song? as i dont really remember this one.

I've already played two songs before, so I can start quickly.

I agree with @cacahuate51 here. This is definitely harder than 2.5. I'd give this at least a 4. As I mentioned once with another song, I can't imagine playing a chart like that when I was a beginner, it's a crazy amount of finger stretching!

Yes, Galneryus = crazy spped. I really like their melodic riffs/solos, but here I think I like the calm middle part the most.

Another trick I just learnt
If you scroll wheel click all recent images they open in tabs to quickly go through and right click copy image .
Not a lot quicker but saves keep open closing images

i use postimage. you just RMB on selected images (in Explorer or any other file browser) and go to Send to->Postimage.

It then uploads images to the cloud and generates links list of selected files, which you can paste to the forum.

well i think something happened with postimages / stopped working on this site aswell at some point long time ago? cause i remember using it before imgur and then for somereason had to switch to imgur. Infact both of your images @Daz40 and @kayteck appear like this on my end "image not found or was removed" (unless you guys both deleted it)

that's odd... i have no problem opening the files i sent on any device i use.

i know about imgur issues but i am not aware of any problems with postimage 🤔

i was using imgur before and had to switch to postimage because of the issue.
