I didn’t know it would be so easy to win beginner class, do most people go straight to intermediate class or get there quickly? It felt like this song was easier to play than last week’s song, Year 3000 by the Jonas brothers, even though it supposedly is the same difficulty. When determining the difficulty of a song, does everyone follow a certain “protocol” or can it get somewhat arbitrary? I have tried to play Hasta la Raiz, it felt like it is possibly doable for me and I might post it if isn't too terrible and feel like I can get it before deadline, although it’s definitely not going to be close to 100%.

It all depends on the individual as eveyone has their own pace.
The current most active participants are usually intermediate and advanced classes.
Beginners usually either level up to intermediate or just stop participating. It also seems a bit rare for masterclass to stay, luckily the bass class has been quite consistant :)

Recently @Argh1992 (still beg rhythm but int lead) and @vegetaxGuts got promoted to int so unfortunatley not that many other participants in beginner atm. The only other semi active is @rosefog whom is a beast at bass . Havent heard from @Willyam for a while.

As for difficulty
It should be similar to previous played songs but it can be felt differently from player to player. That's why imo best way is to just average it out at the end of the week (people giving their own scores and doing a median of it) incase others felt it was easier or harder (they should roughly be 1 to .5 difference imo/ nothing too drastic).

Rodman started making this post for difficulties. Any opinions about it make sure to leave a comment there to improve it/ have a more concise idea. I personally dont agree octaves are intermediate/ automatic 4 minimum. I find if theres not that much jumping around, slow speed/ consistant and note lengths may make it easier than a 4 . Rodman and other particpants have heard me ramble about that too much tho😅

@EmbraceTheAbsurd, this is my third week hosting so I am still getting the hang of it! I am also a considerably less skilled player than @cacahuate51, and most other active hosts, so if anyone is going to overrate songs then that would be me. Trust me, I spend a lot of time doing my best. I do appreciate feedback so I can do a better job!

Interesting! I went back and checked and I started on Week 577, promoted to intermediate lead in Week 585 (8 weeks in BEG), and promoted to advanced lead on Week 631 (46 weeks in INT, nearly 6x as long!). 👵🤶 I bought and played the game since December 28, 2014, which lines up with Week 61 (516 weeks in LIMBO), behold the power of the Championship!

@ALSRC started playing the guitar paths after only participating bass at first on Week 608, promoted to intermediate lead in Week 616 (8 weeks in BEG). So come Week 662, you already know... 🤘😎🔥

@robolechuga I see you are on the schedule as host for next week so I wanted to check in and make sure you're still able to do it.

@drand I got it, been testing a couple songs and tonight me my friends, Mr. Evan Williams or Mr. Sauza Hornitos will be have a evening of prep to get it all together.

I haven't done anything this week. Shame on me.

Well well well, for difficulty - hard topic ;)
It´s the overall impression of the song based on certain cornerstonerules i started to write up in the compendium found on the CS main page. Overall it remains and will remain somewhat subjective for the main reason that different playing techniques come easy/hard for different players depending on how someone started to learn the instrument, talent and preference. Since ratings started i am working on that - let´s make a giant step NOW and try to bring something to live. I catch myself having similar thoughts to @cacahuate51 ....

what if React could read out (X) diff suggestions posted below the screenshot and just build the avg of all votes (probably weighing the initial score 2 votes) and write that back to the leaderboards rounded to the next .5 like

I think that would keep it simple enough to be implemented, motivate everyone to post his feel of the song more and move things to a broader based diffratingsystem...

@avastreg - we come crawling again there doable or not a chance for you?

If not the other option would be to create a small google sheets applet that would give the option to send a diff-vote for the songs of the week, i know our man @kayteck is a god at creating some like that.
Downside would be - would have to be clicked at will and thus probably less used....
