Hey,

Since i know we have quite a few people playing with their daw: there is Tonal Balance Control 2 for free on plugin boutique. Haven't used it myself but it's an izotope product so maybe it's good?

Have a nice week end everyone!

I think I broke my guitar the signal is very spotty and low, sometimes it goes mute halfway through a song... have to figure out what is wrong before I even fix lol seems like a wiring issue

lost MC trophy?! broke my cable, anyone recommend a cheap guarenteed-to-work replacement from scAmazon?

Sometimes being cheap can be more expensive in the longrun😔.
Not sure if you mean normal guitar cable or rscable.
I can only say what i use/ havent had issues - focusrite interface and an orange ernie and it works ok .

If you arent on discord yet, i would suggest you joining cf there and ask since theres more active people, probably in the gear channel/ reccomend you something more economical.

are you still using rs cable?
i remember having that happen with it when it was getting old. Sometimes moving the cable around helped but it would get to the point of being unusable. I think i went through like 4 rs cables (bought the first game long timeago/ when it cameout) and then realized i could connect via the audio interface lol

but thinking about it..you say it goes mute instead of pausing? i think the game should stop if its damaged but its been a while. If you are using headphones then maybe the headphones are damaged and i would suggest you to try them on other devices.

That's why I brought a joiner so the Rs the cable sits still and never gets plugged In or Out.
only cost a couple of quid but saves you money In the long run .
But yea, Audio interface Is the way to go .

Nope, I am using RS_ASIO with Focusrite so I can see the green visual on the input fading and flickering, also my other instruments work fine. Any ideas?

Also sound stops coming out of the amp as well, I have an ABY splitter I use sometimes to split the signal. If I smack the guitar a little sometimes it fixes it lol that’s why I think it’s the wires/soldering issue.

yeah the rs cable. am very familiar of the cheap/expensive workboots analogy 😄

i was trying to record playing and singing along to eminem 100% and signal cut out and paused on the last section and in a troubleshooting superman rage i lost it and pulled the cable apart, but the breakaway cable has been sweet-spot dodgy for a few weeks so did know it was a cable issue.
however, my jack connection has come unsoldered from the wiring many many times before, and my current short-term redneck engineering fix of a very small slither of silver tape has held it back on for the past... 8 months or so?

realised i have a focusrite after i posted, and could/should finally learn how to set that up to play rocksmith,
its just EVERY single 'fix' iv ever tried to implement to RS has taken hours and hours and hours and then just failed, and im running on solar power now so dont have these hours of power to spare atm, cable seemed easier... something something change the asio from 0 to 1 or 1 to 0 depending on the channel blah ahhh nah il maybe give it a go later

(3rd gen 8i6 if anyone has got that working yet)

ok so is everyone using focusrites??

yeah if the signal is coming and going as you move the guitar about its most def wring/soldering, just unscrew the jackplate and wiggle the wires a bit, and if you plan on getting a cheap solder iron dont get a cheap one because it wont get hot enough to get a good join and you'll resort to using strips of tape as a tempory long-term solution

Been using the Focusrite since joining the RS championship, though I’m on a MacBook which makes things ten times easier, never had an issue on the 3rd Gen 2i2.

if your Focusrite is playing up there are always plenty around the FB marketplace in the UK in most areas since people are always selling them. It’s how I got 2 of them.

M-track solo here paid about £15 for it works good

Interesting mix this week, hadn't actually heard any of these songs before which is always good, love getting to hear something new!

?imw=5000&imh=5000&ima=fit&impolicy=Lett

Nice little song if I remember right. I'll be honest, only played it the once because I wanted to get the juicier stuff...

?imw=5000&imh=5000&ima=fit&impolicy=Lett

Bit of a shock to see a Megadeth song in Intermediate. That bit after the solo with the open strings whilst the notes moved down the 6th string threw me every time, had a few more attempts than 3 but this was my best score.

I'll throw a couple of suggestions in here but I'm sure most of you already know them, I mean it is Megadeth after all! I haven't actually kept up with their newer releases so I could well be missing out on some newer bangers here.

1. Holy Wars...The Punishment Due

2. Peace Sells

3. Tornado of Souls

4. A Tout Le Monde - (I personally prefer the United Abominations version with Cristina Scabbia)

5. Hanger 18

6. Sleepwalker

7. Symphony of Destruction

8. Train of Consequences

9. The Scorpion

10. Sweating Bullets

Definitely a Josh Homme song this one, every riff the same and yet different! Big fan of QOTSA/Kyuss myself and Them Crooked Vultures has been on my radar for a while, need to give them a proper listen soon. Really fun song to play with a bunch of little intricacies that you really have to lock in to nail.

I had actually heard of this song before but never actually listened to it, more that its reputation proceeded itself. Fun rhythm section but yeah, sweeps are my kryptonite so I didn't stand a chance with the solos here.

Best of luck all!

Never Knew any of this thanks, will check out these other bands as I really like Qotsa .

Since you use solar power then i can see how a cable could be more convenient. Even though i dont think the focusrite should use alot of power i assume it all adds up over time.

Incase you ever want to give it another shot tho i have sent you an inbox message since i also have a 8i6. And yea i agree the setup is a pain in the butt but once done there shouldnt be a need to change it (but you would have to have the focusrite on) .

o cool didnt remember you had one yet.

Hmmm but if you see it flickering and its mute then to me that means its still the headphones thats the issue not the guitar tho no? you said it works fine on other instruments so ig not that

eitherways :

have you tried just connecting the guitar directly? sometimes adapters / splitters can reduce the sound.

I remember my switch on one of my guitars was broken due to it falling a lot, and would not work on certain positions. Does it happen on all different positions of the switch? maybe thats faulty causing your pickups to not catch the sound.

or is the jack input on the guitar loose? maybe you just needd to tighten that up.

or are the volume controls on both the focusrite and guitar good? sometimes they can slip into another direction when playing lol

Hey hey people, i am kinda busy in the last weeks (and i will be until 22nd of June), only doing my practices and almost not opening my Rocksmith. Those are the scores i could do just now, nothing fancy, just for documenting. And i managed to hurt my fist this week to turn things even better.

Yeah one of the tone knobs was loose/spinning and by the time I opened it up and tightened it I think the damage was done idk how to even begin fixing that tbh 🥲 I did try removing the splitter and that didn’t help… jack is not loose and volume controls are aokay

I will troubleshoot next week, gonna use my travel guitar for now. I was trying to avoid becoming reliant on the short scale since it’s easier (and the full size was more expensive fuu😭)
