Closer, got me on some bends and quick parts still slightly elude me

 

Ok, I think I got that one sounding pretty good.  Movin' on...I watched the band-maid/warning video (so wild how they meshed the two bands) on this next one and I am scared.

Hmm, fear realized.  Those octave things were too fast for my sight reading.  May need to memorize them...then that weird chord thing?

That's about my limit on this one - now I need a bit of RR (Rest and Recreation)..

Phew, got through it.  This one is pretty hard for me.

 

Got rid of the dreaded red X, however, was not much of an improvement....must go to RR...

Bass part

 

Everyone is great. I can't get 100%, because my arm hurts by finger picking.

I can't believe I can play Persona's song. I like this game.

But fast part I can't play.

Very difficult song.

I could get higer score but I can't play fast part anything.

Don't worry! Except from the Eurovision songs (aiko and Baby Lasagna), I didn't know any of the songs either!!! 😆

I have discover many songs and bands through CS and this Championship, so this is my little attempt to give back!  

There were many more songs I wanted to share and I had to exclude, so can't wait to do 2024-Part II !!

His fret stretching is insane, on his solo albums (which i'm still working on charts for all 4 i have the official books)  theres some stretches that are like 15th fret to 24th fret  not tapping, just actually hammer on pull offs lol

I do appreciate your kind message!!! Typhoon Shanshan was heading to Tokyo, but fortunately it did a turn and went straight to north instead of north-east, so it didn't reach here. That meant I had to go to work instead of teleworking! 😆 

Because of global warming, typhoons are really getting stronger every year!!! One of my coworker's father almost died drowned in  his house in another Typhoon (not in Tokyo, but more to the north).  This one was a record breaking huge one, and we got heavy rains in Tokyo and flight cancellations when the storm was still like more than 700km away!

Fortunately, I live in pretty safe area according to hazard maps, but that is something everyone should check if you buy a house! (at least here in Japan, but I think everywhere).

I did try to fix the tunning and I don't know if I should correct the intonation (which I need to learn!) but sometimes I have recognition problems in specific songs...

Even though i know knower and louis cole i didnt know this song. Also pretty crazy it was 10 weeks since i hosted the week with a knower song...time flies. Seems simple enough just need to practice it.

a bit underwhelming to play but its a decent begginer path song.

chorus sounds like it could be a car commercial or something xD

cool song and good tab. Im just not a fan of his stretches cause they can easily be avoided by just playing the notes on the same string. feel like progy bands like this over complicate playing for no real reason other than to show off.. i guess you can argue that you lose a bit of tone by doing it on the same string but eh. ill just cheese it instead of breaking my fingers

A few comments about this week's selection...

Sorry if the ratings are not perfect, but I am happy that this week came out very international. We have songs from Croatia (Baby Lasagna), Czechia (Aiko), UK (The Last Dinner Party), Japan (Band Maid,  Persona 3), Mexico (The Warning), Australia (Plini) and Brazil (Kiko Louerio).

We have two songs from this year's Eurovision. 

Baby Lasagna - Rim Tim Tagi Dim > I think this song deserved to win if you judge from the audience response at the venue! (Although I also liked the song that won. There was the aberrating cancellation of "Europapa", but that is another story...). My 6 year old daughter really liked this song since it was released, so I used to play the chords on the guitar to amuse her! 😄 (It's unfortunate we only got bass, but I am not capable of making CDLCs).

 

 aiko - Pedestal  > This song didn't make it to Grand Final, but I really liked it from the beginning. Maybe the "staging" was just average, which I don't care but it is important to get higher in Eurovision...

 BAND-MAID, The Warning - SHOW THEM > I am Mexican-Japanese, so I was very very excited to find out this collaboration between a Japanese band and a Mexican band. And they are female bands which makes it even more cool!!

I grew up in Guadalajara, the second biggest city in Mexico, which is VERY conservative, and knew the "band seen" back then. Never ever saw a female member in a band playing an instrument, except female vocalists. I am very happy to know there is a Mexican female rock band with an international appeal!!!  🤟 They are from Monterrey, so I hope I can go there some time. I am happy this is getting almost 1 million views!!!

 The Last Dinner Party - Sinner > Didin't know this band, but I thought this song was beautiful. I found out they came to Japan to Fuji Rock festival this year.

Persona 3 - Iwatodai Dorm BGM > I don't do much gaming (except Rocksmith! 🤟)  so I didn't know, but Persona 3 is an update of the game series released this year. It's cool they make this kind of soundtracks for games, meaning gamers listen to music that may be way cooler than songs in the top of the charts! Other songs in this game are cool as well. This is the song playing when the character goes back to his dorm where he lives. "Atlus" is the game company, and the actual composer is  Shoji Meguro, and the guy doing hip hop is Lotus Juice. This is a great soundtrack for working, so I give you here a two hours version! 🤣

Plini & Kiko Loureiro - Out of the Void > I think everyone loving good music and playing an instrument will find this very cool and exciting!!!

 

yeah i tested this song before and enjoyed it. I was just hoping he'd add a rhythm path before i would choose it for a week. That and theres also some parts that to my ears dont sound too right but owell.

yea fun song ill keep it..there is a tricky part in there which caught me off surprise
