Didn't practise this at all, played it again, got some percents.

I have realised what my hand position problem was. Somehow I'd adopted a really horrible habit of resting the tip of my thumb on the pickup when I usually anchor it with the pad of my thumb... thus adding that extra inch inadvertently and having less surface area to grip without slipping off. Played a bunch of songs again that I'd DL'd and red X'd 6 months ago with some pretty good results (pretty pleased with this one http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=731456551 it's really good fun :) and was my first play through since I was messing it up ages ago... huzzaah for the thumb fix and the evident improvement.)

 

Played through Transylvania again. REALLY Enjoying that track, for some reason I didn't even notice the purple arpeggio bits  and despite having a shittier score I did actually play it much better than my first run (if that makes sense) My bad, arpeggio complaint was about the RHCP's... I got confused from the giddyness.

 

MC? (I think... is it?... I'll check in a mo and edit if I'm wrong, I'm a bit giddy at the moment about the thumb revelation.)

This of course made my forearm pump up like Popeye,s and my veins tried to escape my skin leaving a burning sensation all the way down my fretting arm.

How you guys are getting 99% is bloody ridiculous, my fingers, hands and arms are not agile enough and my brain can't keep up with what my hands are doing so i end up in a bit of a mess.......but........ i wouldn't have got 94% a few months ago hahahah

 

So after a small rest i decided a nice slow song was in order before my whole arm exploded .....

@@NoonyDeloony I just so happened to play The Suffering yesterday myself (was in the Eb neighbouhood!) and had a really similar experience. Hefty score jump from mid 80s. Couldn't believe I could hit the chords at the end of the solo now, I used to not even be able to read them. And my ear's getting better, too - I always assumed the chart was perfect in that song, but it turns out it's missing some details, like the frethand chugs during the chorus!

 

Just crazy how we're always geting better...
