Mods & Projects

All 3rd-party mods and projects are posted here.

  1. Started by RoR,

I've made myself a goal of learning to code in C# this year. As well as studying i want to sink my teeth into a project. My idea: Advance Progress Tracker I hope to create an application that logs my scores & accuracy when i have completed playing a song in either learn a song or score attack with a time and date and maybe arcade games too. Data that i can use to generate charts to visually show my overall progress and hopefully improvement . Potentially auto screen capping score improvements too. I thought i would share here as i would appreciate all suggestions, advice, resources you guys can give me.

Hey anyone saw the Violine Projekt? I wonder if someone could do the same with the Ukulele. For myself i'm not good enough in programming the cdlc's and also don't got enough knowing of Ukulele tracks to do it for myself...would be awesome if someone could do this. Greetz and rock on!!!

Has anyone made a custom UI for rocksmith? i would love to have a dark simple UI design and a more user-friendly menu, i got a lot of bought dlcs and with cdlc's its a mess to look through, it would also be nice with a black background when playing a song insted of the flashing speakers in the background

  4. Started by gmderee,

So i was wondering if anybody has made a mod to change the guy that says things like "your gonna be a super star" to say something different like "well that sucked". You know, a more honest comment. I personally think it would be hilarious.

  5. Started by PyroBillie,

So to all the people that suggested to include real life drumming into the next Rocksmith phase. We can already have this pretty good representation by making a splitscreen of Rocksmith and Rockband. Rockband offers very (or fully?) acurate drum tabs, so drummers could follow that to play on their electronic kit or real drumkit. I've made a couple of videos with these kind of splitscreens, and I'll be releasing these one per week for the next 7 weeks. If this idea gets somewhat good feedback, then I'll probably make more. (I started with the 7 most popular Rockband songs, so here you go)

  6. Would there be a way to change all the backgrounds of Rocksmith so you could use a chroma key to remove everything except for the notes, amps, text,... This would be very nice for my live stream. If anyone knows how to do this, please tell me.

  8. 1. Could it be possible that you add a Custom Inlay with a song CDLC? so as in 1 package? (.p_psarc) Other scenario: 2. Could it be possible that when you start a song in RS, you automatically get an assigned Custom Inlay: eg.: If you start a song by Rise Against, you get the Rise Against inlay for that one song, but when the song closes it goes back to default.

Ok i have been working on making a bat file to load seperate folders into the game & managed to work it out, so what this bat file does is load a menu before the game starts, with song catergories, then you just type a number on the keyboard corrosponding to the song catergory in the list, then press enter, this will load the game with the song catergory that you chose. what it does in the background is move folders from the dlc folder to the rocksmith temp folder except for the song folder that you chose in the menu, therefore rocksmith only loads that folder, if the song folder doesnt exist in the dlc folder the bat file will copy the folder needed from the temp fol…

  11. Started by tupoloflyer,

some time back there was discussion about songs building up and sorting them into their own folders. someone had posted a batch file that did this very thing, but i think there was an issue with making a folder for each song, even if the group was the same. regrettably i didn't keep the link and now cannot find reference to it. i've done the search feature but come up empty. anyone remember this, and better yet have a link? thanks

Hi all i have a cousin that lives in queensland & im in sa, just wondering if it is possible to play rocksmith in multiplayer mode but online so you can jam with the other person in a different part of the world, so to speak. If this could get pulled off, im sure a lot of ppl will benefit from this ;-)

I was just wondering if it might be possible to mod RS so that rather than sending a colored block down the note highway, if it could send the colored note name? I think this would go a long way in making RS a true learning tool since you'd subconciously be learning the names of the notes and associating them with their positions on the fretboard, and how they interact with eachother.

Its a silly question I bet, but for sake of being consistent, is there a mod that can keep the "rocksmithtotab" output as Rocksmiths default (EADGBe) with low E on the top... Also, is it possible to have the strings "colored"? I'm just wondering if anyone has done that mod... or would you know what files to edit in the source for myself to do it? Thank you.

  16. Started by Darrken,

Hey guys, I wasn't sure if this was the best place to post this, but it seemed like a decent fit. I've really been enjoying all the amazing work everyone has put into creating custom DLC for Rocksmith 2014, and I decided to give back in my own little way. It's kind of OCD, but some of you might find it helpful. I wrote a little program that will go through your DLC folder and rename all the PC DLC songs to match the embedded metadata, so it's easier to see what songs you actually have by keeping them consistently named. I also use it just to help identify songs that have incorrect metadata so I can manually fix them using the Custom Song Creator Toolkit. Here's …

For my own personal use I have developed a simple phone app for Android for the purpose of choosing the next song to play. The app basically just randomly gives you a suggestion when pressing a button that displays results such as "Move down by 3" or "Play a song that starts with G". I guess what I'm wondering is a) can I just post it here for anyone who is interested in checking it out and b ) would anyone else actually be interested in a simple little tool like this?

  18. Hello Everyone, I don't usually post on these forums. Recently I revisited the idea of porting or cloning Rocksmith 2014 on Linux as Ubisoft have declared they won't be porting the game. I started at the GuitarSmith forums http://sourceforge.net/projects/guitarsmithand quickly found a C++ build of Frets on Fire. I have taken this version of the code and quickly implemented changes that allow it to render the notes in a way that's closer to Rocksmith. It's by no means finished yet, I'm still implementing the neck of the guitar and the full fret range. I am willing to share all of my code with anyone who wants it and am happy to put effort into it if there are other int…

  19. Hi all, found a way to disable the tuning check and tuner before a song starts for Rocksmith, not 2014. There's a way to disable it also on 2014? I honestly doesn't need it (got a chromatic tuner apart, way more accurate) and i change tuning often when i play with rocksmith (odin bless digitech the drop) and i'm honestly quite bored of losing time each song Thank you

  20. Hi guys, not sure if I'm in the right forum, move me if I'm not. I've got this problem going on for a couple of months now, and now finally it's starting to annoy me so hard, I asking for help. The problem I have is, when I'm making Rocksmith 2014 Playthroughs, I record the same song 3 times, (every arrangement) and then I sync up those 3 to have the splitscreen video Like this: This worked for like years, and now lately something is fucking up. I'm not sure it's Rocksmith or Vegas Pro or my computer or my graphics card or ... Here is the actual problem with screenshots: http://imgur.com/gallery/AudWH 1) Syncing with video frames This is to get the best sync possib…

  22. Started by fatcat,

I hope this is okay to post here. I stumbled upon a post that helped me figure out how to use a bandfuse guitar cable with Rocksmith on OSx Mac. Without any problems like latency or noise. No hack files needed at all. 1 Plug in your bandfuse cable 2 Go to your applications folder, utilities, and run Audio MIDI Setup 3 Click the little + in the lower left to create a new Aggregate Device 4 In the Aggregate Device select the BANDFUSE USB Guitar ADAPTER, I used the default volume level .375 and dB 5.939 4 Rename the aggregate device to "Rocksmith USB Guitar Adapter" 5 Right click the Rocksmith adapter, and select "Use this device for sound input" 5 Restart steam 6 Start…

  23. Started by SwiftPengu,

When playing some songs in Rocksmith, I was sometimes annoyed by the fact that some passages sometimes become unplayable due to weird tabbing. Sometimes this is done to reflect how the original guitar player plays the piece, but sometimes it is just the result of a bad transcription to tabs. This annoyance let me start on a project to create an algorithm which optimizes tabs based on certain properties (for instance, minimize the amount of position shifts). The project also serves as an experimenting ground where I try out various standard problem solving algorithms. I also used this project to try out the new JVM based language Kotlin. Currently, I managed to gener…

  25. Is there a program yet to scan your CDLC and correct any files that kill the tone in RockSmith? every other day I play at least a song kills the tone. and with i dunno roughly 8,000 songs downloaded. (estimating over 2,000 loaded) it's kinda a pain to manually go through them and keep track of them. and then load them into the toolkit and repack them to try to fix them. So it's been awhile, I figure there could be a tool to do this, if not, is there a chance there could be one at one point? Thanks, -Dev
