Does anyone have any experience using either of these? I currently have the EBS ValveDrive DI preamp/pedal connected via my Eden E300 amp head. I am using it as a overdrive pedal rather than a preamp to get a tube effect drive sound. I have set it to give a flat response and only adjust the gain control and vintage control as I use my amp to achieve my desired sound. Only problem is that I find this pedal is a bit overpowering on the bass tones, especially on the low E string. I had to stop playing with my humbucker and move the switch to single coil as it was just too much but I wasn't happy with the overall sound. I have managed to kind of get round this by going back t…

I hate it when my fingers grind on the strings when doing slides. I would like to keep them as slidey as they feel the first 2-3 days or so. How do you guys clean/maintain your strings? Ive heard that you can use fretboard oil on the 3 unwound strings to keep them sleek and slidey but i dont know if i should use mine on the strings.

  4. I was rocked by Mission of Burma's Trem Two. Also some Pixies, Bob Mould, Throwing Muses, and I could go on forever, but this is the song that made me pick up guitar.. Bass too. :-P I've been playing a lot of that lately.

Hi folks, I recently bought a Roland Quad Capture so that I could connect my bass guitar via that and to my pc. My aim is to watch music YouTube videos and practise along to whatever song. My problem is that I cannot hear any sound while playing my bass. I've tried changing the settings and pressed all the buttons but I cannot hear any sound from my bass. What am I doing wrong??? Much Thanks

Hi, There are tons and tons of great courses to learn play heavy metal guitar, but I have not seen a single one that would learn you to play heavy metal keyboard. Could anybody recommend any great online courses to learn heavy metal keyboards? Unfortunately, the only thing I found so far are some sparse tutorials on how to play some single songs on youtube and that is just pathetic....

A few months ago I got my hands on an ESP Edwards EDR II 7 string. The replica model of Dir en Grey's guitarist. It's incredibly comfortable and that finish is amazing. Definitely recommending ESP to anyone looking to get a new axe. http://puu.sh/pPcAu/a4a1c35cb3.jpg http://puu.sh/pPcGG/07da499ef0.jpg Came with Seymour Duncans that sound pretty awesome. I've got a somewhat busted Marhsall so I can only imagine what they would sound like on a decent amp.

As the title says, with week 2 now on the way, I figured some members on here would love to discuss American Football and American football matters. I'm a fan of Denver, Atlanta, New York Giants, and Bengals. I think the game to watch this week will be the Rematch between Seattle and Green Bay. I also think Mariota was a beast last sunday

Hi community, LaMosca here aka also know as ThePsyCrow for Twitch Tv. I wanted to reach out to a tabber that could specificly work on this CDLC for me. Its in the request forms but I need a experienced tabber that can manually put in the notes in some spots since the version I want is from Live from Mexico 1993, The album is Sacred Fire, which i belive has a master recording of it. On the request link i put a couple youtube videos, one in particular is a very good cover to visually watch. The notations for Samba Pa Ti are easy to get but Sacred Fire Live in Mexico version is not as easily to be found, some of it is improvised. If anyone can take on this challenge fo…

'The Dream Is Over' https://puptheband.bandcamp.com/album/the-dream-is-over?undefined= Raw, punchy, catchy, PUP built on what worked for them with their non-stop touring, and put it into a record I think anyone could jam to. Check out the first two tracks, and My Life is Over P.s. Their self-titled was front to back perfection

  14. Hey all, I just finished uploading my entry for this contest. I'd appreciate any views of the video on the site. http://masterclass.amplifiertv.com/channel/MrRobbNichols The way it works is simple. Each view on the site (which has NO ads or banners) gives a point for the contest. If you get enough points from views, follows, and shares, then the panel of judges may select your video for the finals. The prize is a trip to L.A. to meet Zakk Wylde for a private masterclass with him at Guitar Center, along with a full setup of pedals, amp, and a new Wylde Audio Odin guitar. Thanks! Daikano~ aka: Robb Nichols

  17. And I barely learned you can skip fine tuning mode. When you are forced to change tuning, press up/down to skip strings. You only have to tune the last string. Then you can do the quick tune and move on to the song. This is helpful if you are switching between guitars and know they are in tune.

  19. I've been off for a good time with SAT TestingAP ExamsACT-SO Music CompetitionGame Designand Writing Songs My issue is for however long now, I've been composing songs but failing or disliking many. I try and do blues, rock, rock ballads, acoustic stuff, all that good stuff, but I can't get it to release point. Are there any PC tools that can help me come up with ideas? I have used FL Studio to make a midi song which I enjoyed but I want to record live and real songs. I know scales and chords but like I never know what's best. I'd like feedback and I'm uploading a small demo track.

I want to be one of those guys that plays 6 hours a day. But I'm so lazy. Do you smoke pot? Drink coffee? What do you do? I don't want to stand when I play and my back starts to hurt a bit when I sit. I don't know, practicing isn't much fun. Do you guys drink beer? I might buy a pack of cigs and drink coffee in a cozy chair to help.

I'm currently running OSX 10.7.5 - yes, you may laugh. I really only use it for browsing t'web and playing Rocksmith with plenty of customs from here. I boot my Mac into Windows for other things (playing music/videos or actually doing work). So should I upgrade? Will I still be able to run customs in a newer Mac OS?

  22. Hi everyone, maybe I searched the wrong way, but I couldn't find any threads on this topic, so here we go. Recently the desire came up to try and record my guitar playing and experiment with melodies that come out of my hands. I've owned Rocksmith now for more than 1.5 years, and never considered the possibility that the Rocksmith Cable would be good for more than Rocksmith itself - silly me! It works great with other guitar / recording software! So I started experimenting with different software and want to tell you about it - maybe you, too, have no clue about the potential of the hardware you already own. At the same time I would like to know if others already have…

Ok. Pretend we were sitting around hanging out. Some people can play by ear, they can hear a melody and play something close. With more time they would sound near correct. No guitar pro for this, but if you were given these two links, could you play this song after some practice? Thank you. http://www.songsterr.com/a/wsa/madonna-live-to-tell-chords-s215468 http://www.songsterr.com/a/wsa/madonna-live-to-tell-tab-g-s215468 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u3qB5RwPQAA
