How to use Custom DLCs in RS2014 Remastered [Updated for 2023]

Featured Replies

If you go the Mac route, you could ask questions from the real experts on our Discord channel. I would do that first, before you spend any money, see what you need to make it work.

Hello all - thanks for the awesome site and content.  I'm pretty new to Rocksmith and want to load up some of the CDLC songs available here - I also look on the Anvil site (also awesome).  Here is my

Thanks for your answers, Ps3 was mostly to try it, I will try Rocksmith+ on Ps5 tonight, and i am thinking about buying 2014 to ps4, so i can play that on Ps5.

BUT i also thinking about buying a good PC instead, my Mac is old (2012) and from what i can read Rocksmith seems to be best on PC?

However, i think it works really well on my old Ps3 to!

I bought my electric guitar in april this year so my Journey has just begun : )

Then try it. Nothing / no one stopping you. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

I can not answer how ps5 will work, but as far as I know, you can not use cdlc w/ Rocksmith 2014 on PS4 or PS5 so do research before dumping a lot of money into this project, as Nick said with researching Mac, as previous OS updates have broken the game.

Correct. The newer PSs are what you pay for is what you get.

PC vs Mac… I have both, haven't found it to matter much, except that the current macOS is incompatible; apparently it works with the jew beta, though, so we’ll see in due course whether that will true when it goes live.

The recent Ubisoft behaviour suggests PC may be the safer/better platform, though.

I have PS+ and have given up on it. Thousands of songs, but few I like (<200) and it sounds like synthesizer to me.

Choose what YOU like best. RS+ is also more expensive; you might wait for a sale. Also: Sony told me the sake price would repeat, but it is not true: once the first subscription expires, you’re on the hook for the whole thing. Be aware.

PC only I believe. That’s partly what I meant when I said Ubisoft has been behaving a little oddly lately; plus the fact that RS+ won’t run on Mac.

Note the Windows symbol.

anyone know, this version, its only for pc, or can I buy this and use the steamaccount on my mac to?

My mac is older with Catalina and that seems to work fine with RS.

I am not a Mac user. Really, truly, you should follow Nick's advice:

And read this post, and this thread:

Seriously take Nick Beat's advice as Ubisoft's web page does not list it as Mac supported. It only has the Windows icon. On Ubi's page, Rocksmith 2014 no longer has its own page, it takes you to Rocksmith + page.

A few things that stand out to me, is that like older versions of Windows OS, Steam Client no longer supports older versions of Mac. So while RS may run fine on Catalina, I do not know if the Steam Client does. Now, however, people are saying that with the Tahoe Beta Rs2014 is working. Which means extra hoops to jump through. I can't answer if that is worth it for you.

You have to jump through extra hoops to unlock it for CDLC, it is not as simple as Windows with just downloading the enabler and patching the .exe with a .dll and then convert CDLC to Mac format.

HI 🙂

Im trying to install the patch on PC however whenever I try to run the installer it comes up with 'Parameters Incorrect'. Ive run it as administrator and checked all the properties. Does anyone know what could be happening?

Just to let you know, your post has been seen… Unfortunately, I’m a Mackie so not well placed to answer you. Hang in there, likely my partner in crime will get back to you when he can!

I saw it. I thought I remembered someone else having a similar issue with that phrase, but I could not find it. I have searched again with no avail.

No. I could guess until the cows came home then head back out, and I was blue in the face, but would still just be guesses. First guess is that it is looking for the Rocksmith2014.exe and can not find it. Happens when the Steam installation is on a non-traditional drive, like a D or E drive. OR Steam is on one drive and the Steam Library is on a different drive than the Steam.exe. Again, only a guess.

Try moving the cdlc installer to the Rocksmith.exe location and running it from there.

Another guess, and wild guess, a drive is corrupted. I have no way of knowing that from here.
