How to use Custom DLCs in RS2014 Remastered [Updated for 2023]

Well, although it's not working right now, we do have a new version of the patcher coming soon. So I am hopeful it fixes this issue. I'll let you know when it drops.

Edit: Can you try dropping the new .dll into your Rocksmith folder?

I am having trouble getting my songs to show up.  I originally used the EXE fix, and then downloaded that DLL directly.  One I used the new DLL the terminal shows the error in the screenshot.  Does Rocksmith need to be installed in the C drive for it to work?  I'm not sure what could be the issue.

Hello all - thanks for the awesome site and content.  I'm pretty new to Rocksmith and want to load up some of the CDLC songs available here - I also look on the Anvil site (also awesome).  Here is my

Do you have only one D3DX9_42.dll in the Rocksmith Directory? Having 2 will cause problems.

Do you put the CDLC in the DLC folder or subfolder of the Rocksmith Folder?

No, but it can cause problems, and is for only some people that it does. I suggest trying what this person did in this post:

Nevermind...I didn't realize that I was trying to use a backup of my steam library instead of the current one.  I added the DLL and DLC to the appropriate drive, and now they work fine.  Thanks for the help.

No judgement here, and I would have never thought to think that someone accidentally was looking in a backup. New thing to add to my list of possible questions. As long as it is working now. Again, no judgement from me.

You'd be surprised at how many times "duplicate install/directory" comes up on the Discord.

I'll own you one day. 💜 If you would like to support me by donating, I always appreciate the help.

I should have thought of it before,  because it can be easily confused. Especially when crossing libraries over drives.

Quick question, I'm about to buy rocksmith 2014 since it got rerelased on steam, do i need the cherub rock dlc? cause I don't think it's available anymore.

Also, what about the CLDC enabler? Do I need to use that too?

Well, I'm looking into it, and it seems like I don't need any DLC, huh.. Just press a button and go..

No, it is not required anymore.

In order to use the CDLC you need the enabler to inject the .dll.

Hey there!

I'm on MacOS Sequoia 15.1.1. I applied the patch successfully, downloaded some songs (for MacOS (with .._m.psarc)), copied them to the dlc folder, but they don't appear on the list. I bought one of the songs on Steam and it is in my list.

Is it something that I could fix?

You'll need to change the IDs of the CDLC you downloaded to the ID of the DLC you bought.

I'm hoping to find someone here who might be able to help me. I've been trying to fix this for the last few years and just got busy with life. But long story short, I woke up wanting to dive back into learning to play the guitar. I originally started learning left handed but after finding that my guitar was damaged during my latest move, I was persuaded by the guitar center employees to relearn playing right handed as there are more options available of guitars. I agreed here we are.

So RS keeps crashing during when selecting learn a song. I went along and reconverted everything to using the latest patches and fixes, updated the RSBypass patch. Followed the video on how to do it, verified the integrity of game files in steam but nothing seems to work. Is anyone else dealing with this issue?

I'm playing on a MBP 14in (2023) M2 Max, running sequoia 15.2. I have also tried this on my MBP 2015, running Big Sur and its the same issue. What am I overlooking? I'm just a guy trying to rock out.

Go back to page 40 on this thread and read forward from there.

That’s not really very helpful for anyone to diagnose your issue…. Best provide specific details of your installation and what you’ve done.

i have used the CDLC before and i have over 1200 p_psarc songs, currently only 121 are listed when i run rocksmith 2014. Many are missing. I ran the current CDLC enabler with no luck.

That’s a decision you have t make for yourself. Read back on this thread, we’ve been here many times. It is flagged because it alters an .exe, which is what malware often does.

Had Rocksmith a long while back on PS3 but want to pick up the RS 2014 Remastered learn and play on Steam.

Just want to make sure I have it right.

  1. install the game on Steam
  2. run the CDLC Installer file
  3. Then just put any downloaded p.psarc songs into the dlc folder
  4. Load the game and custom songs should show up

Is that all of it?

Is there any need for real DLC or any edits as was reading about Cherub Rock that's no longer available.

I think that’s right (on PC) and IIRC yiu no longer need a real DLC . My pal @ Sniper Reload3d  will correct me if any of this is wrong. (I’m out of practice. But worst case you’d have to tinker a little.)

Not on PC, as you said Cherub Rock is no longer available and the new enablers do not require an Official DLC.

As for the rest, that is the jist of it. You might want to make a sub folder in the DLC folder for CDLC to keep it organized if you do decide on any Official DLC, but that is purely a personal choice and not required.

Thanks both.

So seems relatively simple to setup! Will try over the weekend.
