Warning! macOS 15.4 update breaks Rocksmith Remastered

Featured Replies

Yeah, definitely. We have to keep complaining.

This is what they said when they closed my ticket "We are aware of this issue, and have noted that you're affected as well. This issue is being looked into, and we'll keep you updated as soon as we have any further information to share."

They're aware of it and they claim they're looking into it, but for all I know this could just be PR talk and they're just hoping Mac users forget about it. Idk, I'll try to be optimistic though.

I've finally got it working using this DLL instead:      Haven't tried the true tone cable since I always play plugged to my axeFX instead, but I'll give it a try later to see if it wo

I've kinda given up at this point. I don't think they're gonna update it, but keep me posted if they do. I already backed up all my files on an external drive via Time Machine just so I can start to revert back to a previous version to run Rocksmith.

Nope. I wish Ubisoft support would just say some shit like "We have no plans of fixing this issue." or something.

Is there an easy way to get Rocksmith working on 15.4 or 15.5 I'm still on 15.3 refusing to update.

Nope. Not possible yet. I got in touch with Ubisoft support again yesterday but they're still not helpful. Stay on 15.3.

Thanks for staying on it! I would migrate over to Rocksmith+ or the Learn and Play edition if either supported Mac. Hopefully, they either patch this soon or re-embrace multi-platform.

No problem! Doing my best. I do have a really good Windows laptop that I use for gaming, but my Mac loads Rocksmith a LOT faster and I'm able to screenshare/record the game with no issues unlike on Windows. It overall just performs better on my MacBook M3 Pro, so not being able to play it on Mac anymore is a huge inconvenience.

The good news is that this time they escalated my case. Unlike the last time I contacted Ubisoft Support where they just gave up and marked my case as "resolved" when I explicitly stated it still would not work (even gave them video evidence).

No way am I doing Rocksmith+ lol

How the hell did I miss this? I really hope this is true. I have given up on Ubisoft support. Ironic that the next MacOS update is what solves this problem and not Ubisoft themselves.

How do I get into this beta?

IT ACTUALLY WORKS. IF YOU UPDATE YOUR MAC TO THE TAHOE BETA IS ACTUALLY WORKS!

Thanks for nothing, Ubisoft lol

I can confirm I upgraded to Tahoe and rocksmith is working, only issue I've found so far is the writing (song lists and what not are just dashes and not actual words, hopefully there will be a fix but for now it is playable again as long as you know how to navigate the menus)

Same.

I just upgraded to Tahoe, and Rocksmith has begun to work for me again. No problem with the song names or input (just had to put Steam Enabled and microphone permitted options, current update).

So yes, with Tahoe 26.0 Apple has fixed this!

Just did the Update and can confirm, that RS 2014 runs with no issues whatsoever, and it is fast!

Huge thanks to everybody, who was buggering Apple with complaints and reports and of course to Apple for fixing this!

Adding one more confirmation that RS 2014 base game + all my CLDC is working via steam and RSBypass v1.9 patch on MacOS 26.0 official GA release.  Came from a working rollback of 15.3.  I did not have to re-patch or do anything to keep steam / RS / RS Bypass working after the upgrade to 26.0.  Just did a couple restarts to be sure everything had been applied and let steam and OBS update to their current versions.

The community here has been so helpful to me over the years getting and keeping CDLC working, this was my chance to give a little bit back!

anyone updated to 26.0.1? just checking if update will break again rocksmith

Oh we have 26.0.1 now

It did work but it's VERY choppy, I had the game running on Windowed mode I'm on a Macbook M1 Pro, I didn't get this choppiness previously Mac OS 15.3.

RS is opening up with  Mac OS Tahoe for me, and I can play bought DLC or songs organic to the game.  Seems like if I try to play any of the CDLC, though, the game lets me tune the guitar, but then never loads and eventually crashes.  Anyone else having this issue or found a fix for this?

no problems, I have not noticed any performance decrease from 26.0. MacBook Air M2.
