Input devices shown as "none" on every type despite what I try (Direct connect)

I enabled Direct Connect in RSmods, yet it shows having no input device (using aux to usb cable). I've tried using Nocable as well. Nothing works.

Here is the list of things I've tried/checked

  • Plugging into different USB ports
  • Nocable
  • Checking the sample rate
  • Disabling all other microphone devices etc
  • Enabling direct connect in rsmods
  • Checking that the cable actually works (it does)
  • Making sure that apps have access to my microphone etc
  • Closing all other applications

I've tried getting it to work through the microphone option or realtone cable, but literally nothing works and i've been trying to fix this problem for ages. any help? issue might be with my rs.ini because i haven't seen any solutions online that say to change it.

Hey Tavi,

So I have been having this same issue as you with not having an available input for Rocksmith. I'm using a Doremi aux to USB cable (I'm gonna guess similar to yours) and found out it is not recognized as a MIDI device. With that, Rocksmith can't use the input from the cable because it cannot encode the audio from analog to digital. I am trying to find a fix around for this but hang in there.

Having this same issue now where I've never had it before... Nothing has changed since last time I played except I'm using a new Windows login (same PC even). Really clueless as to why its not working. 3 different USB input devices that worked before with Direct Connect mode are all now not detecting in-game despite showing in Windows the same as it always has. Tried every manner of changing input device, enabling/disabling them, device exclusivity, making sure right bitrate set... Just fking nothing. My only guess at this point is a Windows update broke something. Real sad to see this thread sitting since March last year with no fix.

Have you tried: "RealToneCableOnly=0"?

Some interfaces report the guitar input channel as one that the game isn't expecting, in this case - Direct Connected mode may not work for you particularly well. If you want to test before applying - go into Microphone Mode and see if your interface lets you have some note detection. If it does - then DC mode should work for you once enabled. -RSMods
