Hi folks, first-time poster, I've hunted for this question but have not found anything yet.

I used to have Pearl Jam's Alive available for play in RS2014 (PC/Steam).  I had to reinstall the game recently and it's no longer selectable.  I know they took off the store recently but I would assume since I had it before I should still have it now.  IIRC I must have bought it as a standalone DLC from the Steam store.

Is there any way for me to get it back?

Thanks in advance all.

The question has been asked before, just not with that song. The intrinsic quirks of search.

There recently have been a number of people with missing DLC that does not appear in game.

If you go to Steam, you will be able to see a list of all purchases; Settings, View Account Details, View Purchase history.

It was part of the Rock Hits 90s pack released Jan 15, 2013 so it delisted Jan 15, 2023. https://theriffrepeater.com/rocksmith-dlc-115-90s-hits/

If you did purchase that DLC, and you have RS1 you can go to the DLC page in the Library (RS1) and make sure that it is selected. There is no option in RS 2014 to select or deselect RS1 DLC, only RS 2014 DLC.

(Again, if you do own that DLC) You can attempt a couple things to try to get it to appear, but there is no guarantee that those will work. This has been covered in a couple other threads, like going into your RS 2014 DLC local folder, Usually C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Rocksmith2014\dlc and delete:

rs1compatibilitydisc_p.psarc

rs1compatibilitydisc_m.psarc and,

rs1compatibilitydlc_p.psarc

then running the game to force those files to re-download. You may have to verify files through Steam Library, you can also attempt (yet another) clean install of Rocksmith. Remember to back up your CDLC before doing that again. There is no promise that any of that will work.

Thank you so much for the guidance.  I'll give this a try tonight!

IF you have Alive purchased, and none of this works, let me know, I have one other thing that I would like to try.

I checked I don't have that pack, of the single song in my Steam DLC. It's odd because I had the song previously and spent hours on it.

I did buy it individually I can see it in Steam purchase history. I'm up for trying your last idea.

Anyone solved?
Why removing an item that we have bought? I can't believe it.
I'm going crazy: Alive, Black and Jerey are some of my favorite songs of my favorite band... And maybe many other are missing...

They didn't.

They are not removed from the game. It probably will not reassure you, but I just checked again. This has been an issue in the past, not only on this thread. the thread linked above, and the following i.e. thread:

As mentioned in the thread(s) it has been an issue in the past that was supposed to have been resolved through Steam, it can be an issue from many things especially if your Steam install or Steam Library is installed in a non-traditional location, Or your Steam not being up-to-date. Others have found that if they have RS1 installed, deselecting and re-selecting in RS1 DLC (Steam Library) has forced the songs to re-appear.

I would read through that thread, I would try deleting the compatibility files listed above, and trying a verify file through the Steam Library.

If that does not work, other people have gotten it to work by deleting Rocksmith and reinstalling.

Make sure that you are not using a favorite list within the game. Check your DLC folder before deleting the compatibility files to see if the above songs are in the DLC folder.

BEFORE DELETING THE GAME MAKE SURE YOU BACK UP YOUR CDLC FILES. I can not emphasize this enough. Charts disappear off of ignition due to people quiting the forum and not maintaining their charts in whatever hosting service that they were using. Some get removed for gross errors in the chart or such.  Make sure you back up your CDLC.

Some people have gotten the songs by just updating Steam. Others have had to fully delete Steam and had it restore the missing songs.. Again, back up your CDLC. Also keep in mind that this will delete other games, game saves not stored in the cloud etc. Proceed with warning and advisement. If your Steam is in a non-traditional location, not on the C drive, I would reinstall on the C drive if at all possible.

Hello Sniper Relod3d,

Many thanks for your answer. I wrote

because I have noticed that the songs/pack are "delisted".

I've already tried the following:

  • removing "compatibility" files. I had only one of three; I've deleted it, and nothing happens.
  • Uninstalling and reinstalling the Rocksmith 2024 game, as well as uninstalling and reinstalling Steam to the latest version.
  • I tried to deactivate and activate DLC in the Rocksmith DLC Steam page, but my list is totally empty.
  • I didn't buy Rocksmith 1 for Steam (I have it for Xbox 360), so I wanted to buy it (since the previous point is valid if you have rs1 installed). Anyway, the game is not available anymore.
  • I usually play Steam with my Mac, but I also tried to install it on a Windows PC with the same results. In both operating systems, I left the configuration as the default (avoiding non-traditional locations).

Maybe there is something that I did wrong, or maybe I am missing something else...  I could try to contact Steam support, but I don't think that someone will answer me for this "silly" question.

They are, meaning no longer available for purchase. However as current User Agreement stands, once purchased, you own it for "life" and are able to download it as you have purchased the license to do so when you bought the DLC.

My point still stands that they did not remove access to those songs if you own them.

Those particular P.J. songs are RS1 DLC and will only be in the Rs1 DLC page, not the Rs2014 DLC.

I do not see if you checked your favorites list, or when deleting the compatibility file if those charts were in your DLC folder.

If you did indeed purchase these songs, I would do that and contact Steam support, that is what they are there for. In the past, they have said it is an Ubisoft problem not a Steam problem, but it is indeed a Steam problem. That is where you are downloading from. Be persistent.

Hello,
some updates: I've contacted Steam support, who, at first sight, didn't understand the problem. (Ok, my fault.  My English is neither fluent nor good.
Then, when they identify the problem, they suggest to me to contact Ubisoft support to ask for help. Ubisoft Support basically answered with bot and they are totally out of contest.
When they finally understood, they closed the ticket, writing that the DLCs are not "activated" without giving me further instructions. When I ask for more details, they "upscale" the ticket to a more professional support.
Anyway, my concern is about that:

I'm inside the loop. Each support will rebound to the other. I'm still waiting for the answer.
At the end, with further investigations and checks on my DLC, I've noticed that all the DLC "marked" RS1 were missing (as you can see from the attachment).

So, I'm just wondering (and asked to both support) if I miss something in the installation/configuration of the game/Steam, or the account. I've never owned Rocksmith "1" for Mac OS, I only had it for XBOX. Anyway, when I bought and downloaded those ODLC, everything worked fine until the last OS clean and reinstallation.
Do you have any idea about that?

Thanks again,
Davide.

Yeah, I have no idea what they mean or meant by this either.

I personally do not use a Mac. Back in April, the 15.4 update broke Rocksmith. It has been mentioned that Ubisoft had dropped Mac support before that had happened. This of course is outside of my wheelhouse and purview. Taking a look at Ubisoft's website the other day because of another thread, I saw that they only list Windows as a supported OS. https://steamcommunity.com/app/221680/discussions/0/601900462106545560/

Recently, Someone was saying that the Tahoe update for Mac fixed the Rocksmith crashing on start up problem. Now, I have no idea if the crashing or your missing DLC are related to any of that.

When you did a clean OS install, was it the same OS version that you used previously, or was it updated in anyway?

Another option for you is to head to the discord server, and see if you can find the Mac help there.

This explains why I had a clean re-install of Mac OS. After updating to 15.4.x, I struggled with Rocksmith crash at startup.
Google it, and I find the Mac OS incompatibility. I waited some OS updates, but none of them works.  So, after months, I've decided to perform a clean setup and OS downgrade to 15.3.2 (the latest version with Rocksmith compatibility).

And all of that begins...

Anyway, I'm happy to hear that Mac OS Tahoe fixed the crash. I don't like using a not updated operating system. I will give Tahoe a try.

Back to main problem: I'm still waiting some useful answers from support.

@ Sniper Reload3d , I really appreciate your help.
Thanks again.
