Exactly 10 years ago that post happened:

we really have come a long long way.

Thx goes ot to anyone helping make that thing better or participating in the contest!!!!

 

I wanted to have at least one song of each year, with the help of submissions from players and organisers and i think we have hell of a week. Most fun to play charts of them all. I recommend to try all of those.

I must say there are songs that would have been there if they didn´t turn official by now:

Stacy's Mom, Tribute, Black Sunshine - highly recommended to purchase those - just so cool to play! iif you like post screeners of that ODLCs also.

But now... let´s just rock as hard as we can. Have a sensational week!

I practiiced.  They are good songs.

 

I was kind of messy on this one:

But I did turn the volume up a little and hit my Ibanez Tube Screamer and had some fun!

Bass scores

I haven't played this in years (played maybe a few times early in my RS journey and never on bass), and this is a very fun chart to play!

This really makes me tired 🙂 

Great, powerful chart. Steve Harris doesn't disappoint!

I was too tired to play this technically demanding chart, so for now I'll post an old screen from the championship week when we played this.

That's how i almost always feel about their songs xD
For example they made this song for a game i play and it could easily be 2 30 or less aswell but its over 8 mins 

 

pretty fun to play 😄

Still have trouble with that one part near the end but it's a good improvement nonetheless, especially for the difficulty rating

yes I'm aware 😆, and I'm not saying that they didn't do something incredible in their years. They founded a genre, and I've always loved a lot of their songs and grow up with them.
But:

• they industrialized their music, like a factory. It's like Assassin Creed sequels. No soul and no innovation, just pumping out new similar albums
• their songwriting is very simple and repetitive. It's not a crime, but when you dilute your songs so much, and industrialized them, it's not very attractive
•  some songs didn't age very well

I understand your point of view. Maybe you're right that their later songs aren't innovative, but it doesn't bother me because I just like their style. And, for example, from the last album I really like Hell on Earth (it's so long, it's a plus for me, probably a minus for some others 😉), so sometimes they can surprise you with something.

Generally, my situation with them is different, because in the past I listened more to Metallica, and I only knew the most famous songs from IM. I actually started getting to know them more through Rocksmith because their charts are really fun to play. Currently, in the case of Metallica, I mainly like their old best songs, and their new releases (actually most of them after 2000) are not entirely my style, and in the case of IM, I also like their new releases. Of course I appreciate both bands 🙂

what a week! great scores everywhere!!!

i got hooked to my classes song (again) and had way over 50, rather 100-150 plays including my acousic to train my right hands technique - huuuuuge improvement in strumming a confident pronounced rhythm

 

 

 

I'm ashamed of myself to not have gotten 100% here... one of the few songs I had to learn when I started with guitar
