If MC and ADV guitarist would like Rebel Yell, swapped with The Nomad, today would be the day to speak up, before we get deeper into the week.

Thanks,

Master Kenobi

I'm on yes, but I will agree with the majority, if they don't want to. In Nomad I did 90% accuracy on the first try, in Rebel Yell it will require more effort, so it should be swapped IMO.

Maybe make Nomad a MC/ADv class battle and extra credit rebel yell :)

If you guys want, i can chart an alternate version of Rebel Yell

For me, The Nomad is hard for both lead and rhythm. Rebel is a bit easier

I hated Royal Republic prev. time. I hate it this time too.

UPD: OK. I hate every song. I guess I need to stop.

Agree with Nacholede, the Rebel Yell chart makes it harder.

In the slides in Rebel Yell it does not list the end note, like Nomad.  BTW: Nomad is an amazing chart!

Your version sounds better. It is still quite difficult to play, but I definitely prefer this version!

Woh this is a complete redo, great job!   Now I just need to practice a little.

I just need to work on the solo section...the song plays very nicely!

The solo part has a lot of broken notes from bends and slides. These are really nasty looking.

In the beginning (second phrase), there is a 1.5 step bend marked to pinch harmonic on 5th fret, that sounds like it's wrong. The first note should be unpinched and the second one is a pinch. There is no bending involved. It's supposed to be the same as few bars before.

I only gave it a quick sightread/sync check without playing. That solo does need more attention to details, but for a two hour job, that's hell of a lot better than the original was.

Rhythm had no major issues. The sustains do sometimes overlap with next notes, which does cause issues with readability, note acceptance and SA scoring. It looks a lot cleaner if the sustains are marked to end like 16th or 32nd note before the next note is due. And further polishing would require attention to details on those finger positions and such, but that's a whole another subject :)

I had a lot of problems with the solo. I couldn't test the chart so i'll take a look at those things now

Question to advanced bass players. Parts like the one in the picture, do you play with single finger or alternately with two fingers?

20200602000738-1.jpg

Hitting with one finger I have better sound and accuracy, but I lose speed and after a few minutes I feel tired in my hand. Hitting alternately with two fingers seems more natural, but I hit less cleanly, probably not enough practice ;)
