So I'm happy to say I have no need to sell my gear, thanks for all the kind wishes it meant a lot to me.

Really? Didn't sound so good here. Had to turn off the guitar tone on RS and use my chrunchy amp tone instead.

@@meelo I dont know, sometimes I use a drive pedal before RS to give more grit because sometimes RS is a bit trebbly. The only thing I used differently is a pitch shifter (guitar was tuned to D and I increased a semi tone for the song. Also don't forget the guitar takes a big part on the tone.

 

The guitar I used is very bassy(cheap Basswood body) and with a big output volume so maybe thats the reason it sounds different. If you have another guitar try another one or maybe switch to the neck pickup.

If I do >99% on the advanced rhythm this week will I be forced to move to masterclass?

I just want to compete in equal terms with my Finn friend @@meelo :) , it's a bit hard trying to achieve the best you can and then <99% eheh

PS: Can I ask why we don't abolish that rule instead of getting exceptions from now and then? In my case I don't mind someone else winning every week without being promoted to the next. Specially on a class like Advanced, I can understand this on the beginner and intermediate. Just asking.

Well the rule is good.

99 on top category of class means in almost any case you dont belong here anymore...

 

It still is possible to ask to stay down and when the orgas and classmates dont vote against you can stay down. So never please never hold back a 99+ score because of fear of upleveling!

 

 

 

 

If you wanna hear my personal thought - you are a clear masterclasser in lead and rhy, as you have been a year ago also!

I know you wanna make songs sound great - and this is awesome. Question is would that be so bad to try on mc songs? And - you still can play the hell out of adv songs if you are in mc.

My advice - do not fear levelup here!

Coheed rhythm

Knew you would easily beat my score, as that 99+ score I posted came to me very easily. Barely any restarts, no riff repeating, just playing it in SA couple of times. If I had had time, I would have grinded my way to 100 %. I'll get you next week ;)

 

They say don't be afraid of mc, but they have guitar gods in there! I am definitely afraid of that Swedish giant!

@@Rodman I can understand your point of view but to be honest if I'm in 4th place and in 8th place on lead and rhythm, and what I believe this rule of >99% is intended for is to avoid the same person winning all the time, I'm not that guy as it is possible to see by the results and standings :) Rules are written and I respect them but I just gave my opinion that's how things change if everyone or the majority support it.

 

I know if i advanced to MC I still can play other songs but we all like a bit of healthy competition right? And again I'm not dominating so I'm not taking the pleasure of other people being able to win 

 

Regarding being afraid to move further, aren't we all on this for pleasure and getting better? What's the point of moving up and doing scores of 80% and worst of all playing the songs very poorly. Isn't it the best feeling in the world when in some way you master a song you love that was a challenge? The trick in my opinion is playing songs a little bit beyond your current level, which the advanced class did wonders for me :) that it's not noticeable because in the background  I bust my ass off to play them well and not playing the other songs

I agree that Coheed was probably the easiest song to play on advanced that I found. Let's see what will be tomorrow's song. :)

Rules are meant to be broken and changed.   They have been changed a lot over the years here.   Never be afraid to voice your opinions.

i put a lot of work into this one, cos i like it, sometimes i get it sometimes it turns to shit, but getting there.

 

shouldn't be playing really the Doc has told me that i have Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and shouldn't be putting my hands, wrists, thumbs etc through any unnecessary strain......... if he could see me now  :rolleyes:
