How do you record playthrough videos?

I've seen videos on youtube where it shows the guitarist playing and it also shows rocksmith. What programs do I need to use to be able to do this?

     I use Fraps to record, and Vegas Pro 12 to edit, then follow the Riff Repeater tutorial, (posted above), that everyone followed I guess :p
