I'm having some sound issues. Recently I've been forced into changing my OS courtesy of Microsoft updates, so I'm now running windows10. I kinda like it, it's very reminiscent of windows98 and things are in their proper places, BUT, for some reason, my settings keep changing. Mid song I've had the mic exclusivity decide it wasn't going to give any control to rocksmith. I get a window pop up everytime I take a screenshot that my speakers appear to be unplugged too. I'm repeatedly having to change this setting during playing rocksmith and restarting it for it to take effect only for my computer to refuse to allow me to use my headphone socket at the front of my machine that allows me to run it straight to the soundcard. It "thinks" I have it at the back (I don't) and therefore I must obey it. I love PC's but I hate Microsoft being a PITA about my hardware. I can't record anything either which is irritating :(

Could be worth looking for some updated audio drivers. That or you can roll back to your previous OS.

And honestly? I totally miss the fucked up things you do.

I mostly play with my pick on bass (Newsted style!), but I used to play a lot with my fingers early on. Later I started to treat bass more like a training ground for guitar, more space between strings allowed me to learn alternate picking. That made my fingers week and now I'm slowly coming back to them, but only in a slower or less complicated songs. Of course those played with fingers (some were played with pick). There are some Cliff Burton lines that I always play with fingers (i.e. For Whom The Bell Tolls) and I always play Iron Maiden with pick, and I'm still too slow for Steve Harris :lol:

No, unfortunately I have one ibanez only

If you're having recognition problems, you probably don't have to buy a new guitar to fix them:

 

1) If you're having issues with downtuned songs specifically, picking up heavier gauge strings will fix the issue.

 

2) If you're having more general recognition problems, your action may be too low (your strings are too close to your frets). A lot of guitars let you raise your action simply by turning a couple of screws.

 

3) Similar to 2, your pickups may be too far away from your strings. And just like 2, your guitar likely has some screws you can twist to fix this.

The problem is with downtune. Unfortunately I can't pick up strings right now. My screws on the bridge are on the top right now and on of them on 6th string is cracked.

I'm waiting for new pickups to do complete customs. I will change pickups and bridge saddles. Till that time I must suffer.

I had same problems earlier too. The stupid thing is sometimes droped tunes are working fine and sometimes (like this week) everything is going wrong.

Namely the last time with troubles I damaged my bridge pickup.

It´s still most of the time not the strings - its you :P

No, of course heavier strings are better registered but you might wanna do the following:

 

in the song - go to the menu (press esc) and strum the bad registered chord (or pluck the bad registered note) - down right at the tuning meter you see what IS registered at your playing and you can try if you press the strings too hard (often a problem esp. in the first fret) or if you can optimise your grip so that you get a proper recognition.

@@Vodka I had exactly the same problem on this song and other drop D songs, it seems on my guitar ( Epiphone SG prophecy) that I need to go lower on the E string after the initial tuning.

 

I do the same as @@Rodman does but if that doesn't work I mess with the tuning knobs during the song until I get the recognition right, then start the song again.

 

Try to be patient with it otherwise it is quite easy to start throwing things around the room and in extreme cases can end up with an Ibanez poking out of the computer screen.
