That's some really impressive master mode! Reminding me that I'm probably being a pussy by not committing to at least trying master mode on bass.

 

Then again, maybe I'll give it a good go since the new album comes out tomorrow. I've been looking forward to tomorrow's (and honestly, the whole next month's) releases for quite a while. Iron Maiden, Riverside, and Amorphis tomorrow, then Scale the Summit, Graveyard, and Clutch throughout the rest of the month. And also Slayer, Metric, Deafheaven, and probably other bands I don't know well enough to be hyped about yet. I don't think there's been a stretch of four weeks in the past 8 years I've looked forward to as much as this one!

A bit of a struggle. Totally forgot the details of the most complicated riff (the one in the verses at 3:20-3:40ish, maybe a bit more), and also missed a few of the transitions between different parts. But I didn't strike out by my second attempt, so, I'm happy with that.

 

 

With that said, what are people's thoughts on the new album? I haven't listened to too much of it yet, since Riverside was a bigger priority for me (and fucking awesome. On their more mellow/emotional side), but I'm really liking what I'm hearing so far - might be my favorite album of theirs since the 80s once all is said and done. A lot of music to digest today, as I haven't listened to the Amorphis at all yet, either!

I listened to it last week, and i have to say, it's one of the best Maiden albums of the new era, it's head to head with Brave New World, and also we got a song in...Drop D! for the first time hahaha :D 

And Empire Of The Clouds is an ABSOLUTE masterpiece, 18 minutes of pure opera with the Maiden's touch, just amazing

I would give it a 10/10

Going for the 100% tomorrow

I had almost no time to play this week unfortunately.  I think this was my blind run through from Sunday since it's the only screenshot I have, and I know I didn't get a chance to run through score attack.  I did go through a few sections in RR afterward, but nothing during the week.  I might try to get some time in tomorrow morning, but it's probably more likely that I just sleep in.  

 

From what I remember, it was a lot more interesting to practice in RR after this screenshot than it was to play through in full.  I really like the song, but the bass line was just not much fun to play.  I might still go back to it at some point though, as it seemed like good practice for playing faster and maintaining a groove (not to mention endurance at almost 7 minutes long).

Eh, you only need to beat me once in the coming weeks to make it so that I have no chance of getting the title before you retire. I'm sure you'll be just fine if you don't get the victory this week.

 

And you only have time for like, two playthroughs before the next week begins.

 

But really, I should have known better than to go for the extra point via MM and post it yesterday since that leaves me far too open to you getting scared and getting the main title this week. Based on your streak the first time it seems you should be able to get me without too much trouble.
