Those palm mutes at the start look oh so easy, but i just can't seem to get it right consistently. It seems like the right way to pick this is to start with an up on the D7 then down on the same note, down on the G9 and up on the same note, then repeat. This sound right??

Thats what I mean by economy picking, I think it (economy) needs 3 plus notes to be classed that, but it's the same technique. Or at least I think it is, but I'm a noob so what do I know  :P

I played this phrase such way, as you wrote above simple down 2 strings and then up 2 string (start from one up), very easy.

I don't know why, but for any reason I cannot pass the outro in Addicted To That Rush with less than 30 misses.

If I try at full speed it's 30-50 misses, and even if I play in RR with speed down, at every speed the same, tried until 30% speed, the same. I tried many various ways to play, with hammer ons/pull offs, with slides, plugging each note, with pleck, also tried tapping (index on 3rd fret) and tried all technics in 5-8 fret on E-string, always the same, all about 50 misses and of course one strike in the end. If I get only 30 misses there I'm very lucky, but it doesn't matter which technic I use :(

I actually noticed something similar the few times that I played through that part. I haven't done RR on it or anything yet, but I did notice that when I was playing through on SA that sometimes my score would just get totally stuck for a little while on that part of the song, no matter what I did. Good to know that it's happening to someone else, I guess, but it kind of sucks to know that there's some weird problem with the song and it's not just me sucking at legato. Either way, even with a guaranteed 30 misses we should be able to score as high as 97.5% or so.

 

Also, I don't know much German, but looking online it seems like Schwer is hard. It won't change the % accuracy, but if the strike is bothering you you'll probably be able to get through without a strike (because I can!) on easy.

but I like to play on hard, better one strike but a good score :P  no reason for me to play in easy

2 played runs in 75% speed, one in 85% and one in 93%.  It did a whole lot of difference for my understanding of this song. And it improved my accuracy greatly to. :)

Thank you for your updated version. 

There some unplayable tapping part in the end a song. Almost nothing not registered. I was kicked form SA a few times, at last notes.

87% on Muse lead and it had levelled me down in 2 phrases  :unsure:

@@2groggy, I did the same thing with muse, playing single notes instead of doublets, feel a little dirty doing it though.  It's funny too cuz i'm playing them all on down strokes, so hitting the doublets on the upstroke shouldn't be that hard, but I only played it the one time so maybe if i slow it down a bit I'll get it.

Confession is good for the soul.  We can consider ourselves cleansed.

@ - Yes, it's very optimistic, but I'm just pointing out that there's plenty of room for improvement on other parts of the song before we have to really start worrying about whether this week might be decided by note recognition issues (or whatever you might call it) in the outro.

 

And also, you really care about the score that much? I mean, I like seeing my name in the top 10 as much as anyone, especially on official songs, but I try to use that as improving on a technique or my sound as a whole rather than the be all and end all of my playing (especially since score is hugely influenced by where you make mistakes between the score multiplier checkpoints).

Calibrate and up volume a bit helped for pass SC. But anyway this outro part strange, i not sure that there right tabbed this tapping.

91% MC Lead - forearm's dead too, unrelated to guitar playing though. Think I pulled a muscle or something, can't exert any force with my middle/ring fingers. Oh well, don't need force to fret :p
