  1. Hi, I have a problem. I want to create my first CDLC for Rocksmith 2014 but I can't because Guitar Pro Import option is not active. Anyone knows why? FYI: I found on a forum that there is a tutorial on how to setup EoF on http://rocksmithcustoms.wikispaces.com/ but it says I don't have permission to view this site. So... yeah.

I was going over the lead part on a new custom (Be Bop a Lula) and discovered that somehow I'd added in an extra beat -- which threw everything else off. I'm not sure how I did this though-- is there a key command for this? I must have hit the wrong thing by mistake. VERY DANGEROUS! I can't think of too many times one would want to add an extra beat to a measure. I think I got rid of it -- I selected the beat line and chose the delete function from the menu (it's not clear what that's deleting, but I think I got rid of it). It shouldn't be too difficult to line everything up again.

I'm working on a lead part that has a lot of double-stops in it. Mostly on the high-E and B strings. But EOF insists on giving them chord names (and creating chord panes for them too). Now, I don't consider these as chords -- they're only two notes, after all. So, how do I elminate BOTH the chord name and the chord panes? They're distracting for a solo part. I can understand naming and creating chord panes for power chords, but not for double-stops. They just clutter up the noteway. Unless I'm missing something? Right now, the only way I've found is to give them new names by placing a space instead of chord name. But I'm guessing this will still place them in chord …

  4. When syncing the notes to the music, I like to use playback rate of 25% and timestretch. This makes it easier to spot desync. However, when I'm working, sometimes the music isn't synced with playback. For instance, when I have added a leading silence, music still plays from the beginning. This isn't on playback rate 100%, seems to be random (so I can't tell how to reproduce), still occurs after pausing, and rewinding sometimes seems to solve the issue (maybe even always, not sure). At first I thought I was crazy but then it happened while the music clearly wasn't in sync with the waveform graph, so it really seems to be a bug. Using r1306. (Next to that, I have to a…

Would it be possible to create a looping mechanism within EoF? It may just be me who watches the notes on the wave form over and over again to confirm alignment by thrashing the arrow and space bar keys... In audio editing programs it's easy to define a section to repeat/loop by selecting it with a left click & drag method etc... But I don't know if that kind of functionality could be used in EoF... Maybe a couple of shortcuts -available keys permitting- with [loop start] and [loop end] status, And a [Clear loop markers] for when you've finished that section or made a mistake.. Then, like audio editors, when the play marker travels through the assigned loop regio…

  7. Started by MVega,

I've been wondering something. Is there a way to tell EOF where to position the .wav/ogg files? It seems like this is random. But shouldn't importing position the waveform to start exactly on the very first beat marker? This way, we'd be able to estimate BPM, then adjust the beat-map AND THEN add the leading silence (using beats, not milliseconds). One difficulty I see is that EOF seems incapable of removing the brief 'nose' of silence that gets added onto mp3s (and oggs too) when they're created. Wav files don't have this issue - for one song, I converted the mp3 to .wav, cleaned up the silence 'nose' so that it starts exactly at the first note/sound. Then I conv…

Can someone tell me how many official guitar song book of Eb tuning songs are naming the chords 1/2 step down ??? There a convention to name the chords to the relative position it has in standard tuning. So why not doing the same with EOF and CDLC ??? When songs are Eb tuning, is there a reason to name the chords in b or # ? For ex : E chords position ( 079997 ) must be name E chords even if it s sound Eb or D#. And it should be the same with capo song ! If you put a 3rd fret Capo, ( 022000 ) Chords should be named Em and not Gm.

  9. EOF crashes on importing the following .gpx converted to .gp5: http://www.abysslord.com/megadeth/tabs/super/05-Off_The_Edge.gpx . EOF crashes after saying to me: 'invalid note length of 19 and is probably corrupted'. Since Guitar Pro gives me an error about a tuplet when saving to .gp5 it might have something to do with that.

Dont know if this is the best place to ask - and its probably a long shot - but one thing I'd love to be able to do is to take a Guitar Pro file - and just "Import" it completely into a RS2014 playable file.. ie. - use the guitar pro for the tab - and for the backing track etc etc. I know that guitar pro can export to wav, and that can be converted to mp3 etc - so maybe theres some scope to just automate the import so it knows its based on a GP file rather than the real/proper MP3 of the original track for the timings etc. Any thoughts ?

  13. Hello raynebc! (or anyone else who can help) I am trying to import an XML into EoF that was unpacked from a working CDLC, but I get the following error: "Failure. Check log for details." The loged error reads as so: "Error reading beat tags from XML, the "count" attribute is 0 or undefined. Aborting" The only instance of count I could find in the XML looks like this: <phrase disparity="0" ignore="0" maxDifficulty="0" name="COUNT" solo="0" /> In the chat a user told me that he found many instances of "count" in one of his XML files. Is this a lack of backwards compatibility to an old instance of EoF possibly? What steps can I take from here to get the not…

Sorry for all the posts... but I really like this program, so I'm trying to figure out all of what it can do. Is there a way to get 'instant' chords. That is, I place the cursor on the grid, call up a dialogue, choose the chord I want and EOF will construct it for me? That would make a huge difference in charting the rhythm track.

The new scroll wheel button feature is great. But I'm wondering if it can't be taken even further. For one thing - is there a way for right-clicking to automatically bring up the note dialogue? Instead of having to place a blank note and then open the dialogue. This would solve another problem I have -- I often accidentally right-click on a note when I mean to select it -- but doing this deletes the note. And no matter how much I try, I keep making this mistake again and again, and lose a lot of time because of it, because I then have to undo this before moving forward. (I think the confusion comes from it not being standard Windows behavior -- right-clicking is never a sel…

  18. I'm importing tabs from guitar pro. A song I'm trying to chart has four to five different original guitar "lanes" in guitar pro. I'd like to chart a lead version in Rocksmith that has parts of different guitars; for example, play first guitar until it mutes, and replace the silence in that track that lasts for several seconds, sometimes ten to fifteen, with notes from another guitar lane that would seem reasonable. Is this possible? If so, how?

I'm working on a file I unpacked from a .DAT (the original charter never finished the song). For some reason he placed the start of the song and the chart in the wrong position. As it is, the song starts in the middle of a measure, which makes no sense at all. Also, the audio file is placed so that it starts a little behind the beat anyway. (Maybe when he charted it EOF didn't have a zoom function.) Is there are way to reposition everything -- the audio AND the chart for the track? I need to drag everything forward and line the start up with the 3rd measure. Will this mean I have to redo the tempo map? (It's an old song, so it'll need to be adjusted by hand). I've a…

After spending another morning working with EOF, I started wondering: Is there a way to make the 3D display panel display in Rocksmith mode? I recognize the program was developed to support other platforms, but it would be really cool if the 3D display would provide a preview of what the Piano Roll would look like in Rocksmith. Is this possible? Even if it didn't work in real-time, but you'd have to generate the view, this would make it much easier (for me, anyway) to imput notes. As it is, it seemed like I was guessing a lot of the time.

I'm afraid I may have a corrupted eof file. When I try to save it says it can't find the song folder but trying to reconnect it through file>song folder doesn't seem to work. It asks if I want to recreate the folder but if I say yes it pops up an error message saying it failed. And since it won't save, it won't update the xml files. Any ideas?

Okay, I know I've been posting alot lately, so for starters I hope I posted in the right section, lol. anyway, I'm charting a song that's in drop c...imported most of it from a guitar pro tab but it needs alot of polishing and i'm working on it, however, I just noticed while adjusting the solo parts that if I attach a note anywhere on any string and set the number of the fret higher than the 17th fret, it'll become an X as a muted note instead. I'm pretty sure I probably messed it up somehow, not sure how though, any help would be appreciated greatly. Thanks in advance.
