RSMods doesn't seem to do anything, still acts like it's trying to launch and then never does anything before the button in steam goes back to Play.

Do you have compatibility mode enabled or anything similar? That can cause that issue.

Cant seem to get the game to work anymore also cant find a working D3DX9_42.dll dowload  link if anyone has a link to the file would be awsome thanks

I have several but my NAS is down at the moment. If you search up this thread I think there are alternatives for getting it assuming the standard installer doesn’t work. Have a look.

So the issue im having right now is I managed to download the d3dx9 file and put it in the rocksmith folder which has allowed the game to load which is better than before but it loads for like 20 seconds then crashes back to desktop never actually reaches the main menu any other ideas ?. Really sucks as i bought nearly all the DLC on steam just before the delisting thinking rocksmith would be my long term tool to learn guitar and now i cant play it at all.

I'm sure there's a solution for that (as you bought all the DLC I'm assuming not a pirate copy of RS, because that WON'T work, ever), but hang tight; I'm mainly familiar with Mac, others here can help you with PC.

I would encourage you to use the latest version to ensure it all works smoothly. That's about all I can counsel for the moment.

Your other choice to get fast response is to ask on the Discord forum as that's typically more active.

If it is the wrong file / with the wrong version of the game, it may cause the game to crash.

Does the base game work without the d3dx9.dll?

Did you use the enabler in the very first post of this thread?

Yes I used the enabler and I'm using the normal game not the beta with dlc installed and I removed my cdlc mod folder. Before the enabler it wasn't even loading at all. Last time I played rocksmith was December 23/Jan 24 and it was working fine so I'm abit stumped. I read somewhere that this game has issues with intel 13900ks due to too many logical cores and tried all those fixes too with no luck

That’s true but I believe the current enabler takes that into account. Someone will correct me if I’m wrong…

The newest D3DX9_42.dll file that is installed by the CDLC Enabler includes a fix for the "too many core" issue.
What else have you tried to fix the issue? Also, is there a .mdmp file in your Rocksmith folder? That'll at least give me something to work off of.

Indeed, so my question about trying the game without the .dll is null and void as the .dll permits the game to work with "too many cores" if you are using the newest version as Phantatsy said.

So i ended up fixing it the last comment about added hardware helped i ended up taking out all my usb devices then adding them back 1 by 1 until it crashed again it turned out it was my razer siren v2 microphone that it didnt like. with that unplugged loaded up first time.

Hello there. I've run into a problem, the download link does go through, but my PC is denying the download saying I don't have permission. I have tried to download the CDLC installer on both MS Edge and Chrome and neither will work. What do I do?

I just figured out the issue, I had an antivirus program running in the background and it kept removing the file from being accessed. I just restored the installer and ran it as normal.

Thanks for letting us know. I wondered whether it was a question of admin privilege but I’m mainly Mac so don’t like to speculate.

I went ahead and installed a lot of CDLC but now I have a new problem. The CDLC in question does not advance past the tuning section, and while I have downloaded D3DX9_42.dll , I can't fix it because the computer won't let me move the .dll to the Rocksmith folder.

I've dived into Security settings that fix this issue for others but I still get this screen:

Figured out what was happening, the .dll I was trying to move wasn't the correct one anyways. I was told to run the installer again to get the right .dll file and I found out my antivirus was removing the file once again. I've verified CDLC playability and I'm all good to go now. 👍🏼

Excellent news! Glad you got it sorted!

I'm having trouble getting the mod to work. I added the CDLCs, but they do not show up in the game. Any suggestions?

You’d need to give more contextual info. So: what system (Mac, PC), anything special (mega-CPU), what did you do starting with a clean RS installation (ie, before tinkering).

Otherwise we’ve got nothing to go on.

The CDLCs not showing up is usually a file issue. Either you have a (1) or similar in between _p and .psarc or you have the wrong one. (_m instead of _p or vice versa)
