Need a lead guitar  tone for my Lordi song called Hard Rock Hallelujah.

The link to CDLC is THIS

I've been playing my lovely Epiphone Les Paul Jr. (yes, the bundle guitar) since December of 2013. So far I've been more than enjoying the ride and i love playing.

If you're reading this and you make custom DLC, thank you as i enjoy getting CDLC!

Hey guys,

I am usually pretty good about tones, but this one has me stumped. I need a tone for the Lead guitar, i just can't get the pitch right from any tone I have tried. There is a placeholder tone on the song now, you can test it out at https://www.dropbox.com/sh/kwne78yz17d6ug2/AAC7wTQG9OtpfMQPlOreDUO6a?dl=0

Some info I did find is this.

Both the guitar and the vox organ were going through '60s Vox AC-30 amplifiers,” Wittman continues. “Both of them were miked with one U87; pretty simple. We generated the delay that makes the double upbeats on the organ with a Publison [digital delay unit]. The effect was recorded with the sound onto the track. Also, the guitars were compressed with an LA-2A.

It's not really easy to replicate due the lack of some specific effects on RS.

I'll do some other tweaks and i'll share it.

Hi tone experts :)

I need a good tone that lets your guitar sound like a banjo.

Tried with the accoustic emulator, the lo fi pedal and different amps and speakers, but never get the sound of a banjo.

the custom is already finished, but a good banjo tone would be worth for an update.

Actually I used an auto filter effect for the banjo parts what sounds different but funny.

Hello, My first request for tones, for my first two cdlc, I hope you can help me. I need something similar to this tones, for rhytm, lead and bass. I thinked to city limits add tone from fake tales of san francisco but first i post here.

I'm a complete noob when it comes to Tone Creation.  I've got all the parts fully charted (save for the vocals. Still learning that.  Tutorial Appreciated if you know one  :D ) and ready to go, I just need the tones and I can't seem to get it right on my own.

If you need the project files, PM me and I'll happily send then your way.  They are basically perfect.  To help you get started here are the tones I need:

1: Intro Tone (Sounds like there some distortion in there)

2: Main Tone (Same as above, but louder)

3: Friend described it as a gooey reverb...sound bout right. (starts at 0:53)

4: Bass Tone

Can't you borrow the official 311 tones? If you like the band it's clearly worth the amount and will help you on creating other CDLC for that band.

I actually have the 311 DLC but I played the intro riff on them and they didn't sound right.  They didn't have that punch that Creatures has.  I noticed someone has created Crack the Code from the same album, but compared to Creatures, they are very different songs in tone.  I'm still very new to all of this and while I'm happy that I've gotten this far, the tone creation has set me back.  I suck at it :P.  It also doesn't help that I don't have a bass to make the bass tone with.

I understand I'm asking for a fair bit for these tones, but I just lack the experience to do this song right.

It's not about asking for much, it's jsut that 99% of the time, official tone from the same band or close type of song will work way better than any self-created tone so if you don't feel capable of creating a tone, using an existing one and modifying it a bit will be 10 times better than anything else.

Also, this tone request thread isn't being answered to very often as this take time and not many feel capable of answering the request (i did it for a time but it wasn't worth the effort in my opinion cause only the charter will care mostly).

On another end, you could also try to search the internet for information on the amp/cab and pedal used by the guitarist to help you get started. You can find that kind of info quite easily most of the time and will save you hundred of try.

Funny enough 311's website lists all their gear.   I guess its just something I need to experiment with and pray that I strike gold.   In any case, thanks for the assistance.  Wish me luck :D

(I'm still likely gonna need help with a bass tone :P)

I've got a few that I found in our database that need an overhaul on their tones, some are just down right awful.  These are all by Lordi and need tones for Lead and Bass.

Reviving this thread as I'm in dire need of help! I just finished transcribing and syncing "Them Shoes" by Patrick Sweany, but I'm at a loss for suitable tones. As far as I can tell there are 2 tones, the soft/mellow delayed or echoed clean, and what sounds to be the same with some distortion or overdrive added in. I will be adding a bass track in the coming week (I hope), but it took 12-15 hours to get the lead and I need to step away from that for a minute. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

AMTW-26 + TW-112C

Easy on the gain when adding overdrive.  Fiddle with the mic position too.

You could also get the Black Keys DLC and see if they have a similar tone and copy it.

Can't match that tone exactly, but "good enough" works.

Load up the AMTW-26 in the Amp section of the tone designer.
Then load up the TW-112C in the Cabinet section.
Add some reverb in the rack.

Jam along with the track! Lower the music volume so you can hear yourself.

In the cabinet you can change the mic position.  Play all of them to see which one fits best.

If the reverb is too much, just lower the mix knob.

When the distortion kicks in you can add a pedal (germanium drive will sound ok) without too much gain.

Once you are happy with a tone copy the settings into the toolkit.
