Song Unavailable and No Longer In Steam Store

Hey y'all! I'm not sure where to ask this question but I tried looking for Rio by Duran Duran to practice that snazzy bass line. I saw that CDLC says that it is official DLC so I went to the Steam Store to buy it but it said the Duran Duran song pack is no longer available.

Does this mean that it can be posted back up as CDLC or is this a song that'll be locked for good?

Thanks for any guidance!

Piggy backing on this thread. What about non-official that have been delisted? For instance, I see on YT bassists playing along Fire Woman from The Cult, and it looks from Reddit that it was delisted from CF, even though it's not a oDLC? Or was it? I try to search on Ignition4 for delisted content but I don't get any results (filter Hide Hidden and Hide Abandoned don't change anything on my end). Is there a way to have a list of delisted non-oDLC songs?
Apologies if this is common knowledge or if it's been answered before. Help appreciated.

Pretty much. If it isn't Official material, then it is open season.

[What you didn't ask]: There are a few reasons a chart will disappear from Ignition. Over the years different Hosting Services have changed rules or methods or excluding service to different world regions. The charter could have abandoned the chart, could have abandoned the forum, and it became an orphan. The charter could have been banned. Charts get pulled for having egregious errors in them by Mods or Staff after errors not fixed by the Charter.

I personally do not know why Fire Woman was removed.

As to What you are asking; if there is a particular chart that you wish to have done, you can add it on the wishlist https://ignition4.customsforge.com/wishlist. I see Bad Fun, Revolution, and Spiritwalker already wished, but not Fire Woman. (Just because you request it, does not mean it will get charted, side note.) In this case, obviously Fire Woman was at one time in the database. Often there are people requesting songs that have not been hosted through Ignition that they see on Youtube. Assumptions can be made that they charted it for themself and didn't post / share it.

As with this chart, you can make a post asking the community if someone has a copy of it, and is willing to share it with you.

[As to what you want]: I did not chart this, I do not remember who did chart it, nor do I know why it was removed as I said, so you are using it at your own risk. I only checked to see if it loaded, and ran. I checked all 4 tracks and paths, they seem close. As I do not have the time today to play and check every note, and as I am barely an intermediate guitar player, I am not taking responsibility to post it on Ignition. Which means that you are on your own if there are mistakes in the chart. It would take me well over 3 days to fix a single issue.

Thank you so much for the detailed reply Sniper Reload3d, much appreciated! How did you find out it was once on CF and then delisted, given it's not showing in CF search results? On my end, it's from the Reddit grape vine, but is there a way to get this info from within CF?

Thank you also for the pointer about the wishlist topic. tbh, being new here, I'll start first asking questions and get knowledgeable and not go full steam on others to do some work I hope I can do myself some day (and contribute 🙂). And I suspect Fire Woman is not wishlisted because everyone (but me lol) has it ;)
Knowing if it's ever been listed can help between wishlisting and asking if anyone still has the song too.

Last but not list, thanks for the cloud link, this song works great in RS (it crashes the game in Attack Mode but that's a topic for another day).

Edit: adding why knowing if a song has ever been listed can be useful.

Only because I have the .parsc of it in my downloads. That is the only way I knew. (That, and I know I didn't chart it, and it is not showing on Ignition as an ODLC. It was an extremely popular song when released in 1989, #1 Australia, 46 in US, There is no way someone didn't already chart it.)

Possibly why it is no longer on Ignition. That is only a guess though.

I tried editing my post yesterday and was unsuccessful. As far as I know, there is no way currently that tracks or would be able to track past songs over the past 14 years of what has been delisted. Since it was not implemented (again, as far as I know) it would be impossible to recover that lost data of what has been removed. Almost everyone asking posting asking for a copy of something has been someone that knows that they downloaded it and lost it due to either a data / drive / storage loss / drive reformatting. Something of that sort.

IMO that is a great attitude and approach. Being new anywhere is difficult. This is one way to keep the community alive, the resources and knowledge on how to is out there (in here on CustomsForge). Discord is another avenue to gain info on charting. As you gain your knowledge, be aware that Staff has implemented a newer Standards for publishing CDLC that some people have found frustrating. This will also be a learning hurdle. I am not saying this to dissuade you from doing so but so that you are aware. It all seems extremely daunting, because it is at first. There is a lot to learn and process.
