Rocksmith 2014 Remastered *still* not working.. Anything else left to try?

As title, I still cannot get Rocksmith to run, it simply won't even load up from Steam.

I am using my Lenovo Legion 9i Gen9 Laptop now as I sold my main system, which was about 15 years old now!

I have been away a while and it used to run perfectly, with and without custom cdlc.

I have spent the last week finding and applying every fix I have found here and on google, done everything in all the videos, disabled blutooth, audio drivers, changed screen resolution, cleared caches, rolled back to previous version, disabled cpu cores as I think this thing has 24, and pretty much everything you can find that comes up in googling.

I will add, that I haven't installed any of the cdlc nor set Rocksmith up for it, I simply done a fresh install of Rocksmith, and it just wont load, not even the previous version that we can unlock with the code. So all I am trying to do right now is get the base, vanilla, game to run.

I have a load of official DLC bought in the steam sales, so just getting the vanilla game to run with that would be nice to start with at least.

I noticed in a recent post that a win 11 security update caused issues too, though I took that off and still nothing.

I am at a complete loss as to how on earth I'm meant to get this to run, is there any more ideas and advice just so that we can play?

That sucks,,, you try windows recovery,, restore to an earlier time when everything was working.. don,t know how far back it can recover though..

another thing maybe,, when using Steam, go to RS properties , and check file integrity ?? It,ll try to DL and fix anything corrupted in game files..

The last time it worked for me was about 7 years ago on my old desktop, I bought a desktop replacement laptop since then and it's never worked on this, even though this thing blew my desktop out the water. For ref, my desktop used an nvidia 1080, this has a 4080 ;)

I'm in discussions with ubisoft, told them I've tried all the fixes, updated windows and gpu drivers as well now with no avail.

They seriously need to update the game again, as it's obviously an ongoing issue for many.

Nope, that's of no use sadly.

I'm exhausting ubisofts support so far, been trying everything to the letter to no avail.

They really need to rollout a huge update to get it working, this is quite tedius.

I'll post up the entire conversation here if that's allowed once I have an outcome, some of these tips and tricks may work for some here, certainly not for me.

I've had similar issues with was caused by audio settings, but it's so long ago I can't quite remember which specific setting led to it not even trying to start. I can try working on it a bit with out though.

You get no error? Does the software not boot at all? So no white screen or anything?

Most likely it's the audio engine not being able to start, so something with the audio settings in windows, or another software or services has taken control of the audio playback and rocksmith can't take it for it self. I presume you have checked for things like audio exclusivity being set to on, and the sample rate being 48K, and the correct audio devices being set as default, both for recording and playback.

Since you are using a laptop I'll also ask you to make sure there are no lenovo type control software that's running any services that might be using the audio exclusivity. Note that services can run in the background even if the software it's meant for is not open.

I'll also mention the nuclear option of just reinstalling windows yourself without out all the lenovo stuff pre installed. If it's doesn't work after that you can at least be pretty sure it's a hardware and not software issue. Speaking of hardware issues, is windows recognizing the rocksmith usb guitar adapter? Like in recording devices it's named as such?

Also If i recall correctly the code for downloading the earlier version is for online connectivity stuff for CDLC and mods etc. It should have no effect of the initial launching of the game, so testing with either version should be fine.
