Hi

Hoping someone can help with issues I'm having (or at least confirm whether they are in fact issues, or just the way certain CDLC has been produced!). I checked the FAQ page but couldn't find anything relevant answering the question.

I'm having some recurring issues with CDLC I've downloaded.

1. The first is that for a lot of CDLC I download and try to play, the audio and visual seem to be out of sync. Typically, the audio seems to be slightly ahead of when the notes arrive on screen to be played. Some CDLC's do not have this issue at all, but some do, which suggests to me it is an issue with the CDLC rather than my audio setup. An example is the version of 10 A.M. Automatic by The Black Keys created by Brooklyn_Sounds. Is this a known issue? Is it something to do with the way the CDLC has been created and, if so, is there a fix?

2. The second issue I'm running into quite a lot is one where the audio output on my playing seems really muted or quiet. If I don't play any notes at all, you can still hear the guitar part at full volume on the audio track. However, the notes I actually play are barely audible (as tested on a part of the song where there is no playing. If you play random notes, they are only just audible). An example is the version of 10:15 Saturday Night by The Cure created by th1rtyf0ur. Again, is this down to the way the CDLC has been procuded. If so, is there a fix?

Grateful for any help!

Thanks

For the first issue, it can indeed just be the CDLC not being sync'd properly. The only fix for those is to edit them yourself with EOF or let the creator know it's not in sync.

I checked the one you mentioned and after I slowed down a section in the middle to check, the audio was indeed just a bit before the notes. Not sure how noticeable it would be at full speed, but in this instance it was slightly off.

For the second issue, a lot of songs have the guitar tones set to not be too loud. You can adjust this two ways. One is to edit the file in DLC Builder and increase the tone volumes, or you can turn down the in-game music audio and increase overall volume.

I'll own you one day. 💜 If you would like to support me by donating, I always appreciate the help.

Hi!

Thanks for coming back to me (apologies for the delayed response, I missed your reply!).

Is there a guide on how to use EOF and DLC Builder? I have found 'Arrov's CDLC Creation Process Step by Step thread' but all the images that they have included are blank and just say 'Content not viewable in your region', so wondering if there's another guide?

Apologies if I'm missing something obvious!

Thanks

Mike

Arrov's guide was great when it came out. He put a lot of effort into it. Unfortunately, 2 things have happened. One, he has left the forum, I do not know for what reasons. He made some really good Smashing Pumpkins charts.

2, Recently imgur has blocked all access to the UK following threats of fines involving age verification. Members using imgur to post scores in the Championship threads had to find other means to post their scores following this as well.  https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c4gzxv5gy3qo (I am using the link that Unleashed2K provided). Here in the States, I can still see the images. I am assuming that is the service he used to post the photos. You can search on your own for other articles and the reasons behind their service denial to the UK if you want to go down that rabbit hole.

To get to the crux of this post, your post, and your question; FireKorn has a guide that he too has gone to great lengths to make, it is linked above at the top of the page (and here):

Now while the dates of the thread look old from 2017, he has done many updates and edits to the thread.

Good luck, I hope this answers what you are asking, and what you are looking for.

Thank you! I will give that a go and see how I get on
