Been playing since RS1 and on steam and mac since 2016.  My game suddenly started crashing on speaker screen after tuning about a week ago.  Checked I have current dll in right folder.  Deleted any duplicate songs in dlc folder.  Verified files on steam - 13 files needed reinstalling (steam processed automatically).  Downloaded current patch (RSbypass 1.9) and ran it.  Same problem - freeze after tuning.  Any help much appreciated - maybe from someone who used my CDLC?!

Did the base game work after verifying files, before trying CDLC

I 've been playing 3 years without an issue - 100s of CDLC and last week went to start game and got an error (I forgot to take picture) but it gave the options - report, ignore, etc.  Verified files and ran patch (Usually works) and was able to get to the speaker screen after turning and nothing.

 

Ok, I think I got you.  I removed all CDLC from dlc folder and yes game worked!  I will try putting in songs one at a time

 

I put in one cdlc (Back in Black by Plum) I have had for years and game crashed

Ok, that now leaves the question if you again remove Back In Black, does it work again. It is possible that CDLC became corrupted. It is possible it is just coincidence. I am not a Mac user so I am limited on what I can do for you.

Another question, are you using RS Mods?

Some notes: Every time I verify files it re installs 14 files.  Then these files appeared in my dlc folder:

Removed back in black - so no cdlc and it worked. I left the above files in the dlc folder when I started game.

 

I then added another long time ago added CDLC w/o back in black and it failed on speaker screen.  🤔

Ok, to me it sounds like you have the wrong patch installed if it is working without cdlc, but every cdlc stalls on the tuning. I am reading this as it is locking up the game at the amps, and not exiting out and crashing.

Best to try to find one of the wizards like Hikikomori or another Mac user who can help you.

OK, solved.  Turns out the patch was too new (as you said wrong patch) and I downloaded and installed the legacy patch for mac and bingo - worked with cdlc!!!

Nevermind, it broke again.  It worked with 5 acdc songs and then when more were added broke.

Maybe @ Phantatsy  is able to decipher your crash log that you posted for us. I am unable to locate that exception code 0x0000000000000001, 0x00007ff7ffe1a9b0 at the moment, and honestly I can not read hex.

I have no idea, don't use Mac and haven't had any experience with troubleshooting Macs with or without Rocksmith unfortunately.

This is an assumption. I am assuming that it is crashing because you are using the beta with the patch that you chose.

Again, I am not a Mac user, it be best to get real help from a Mac user, or the patch Dev to get actual answers.

Try bringing your Rocksmith version to the current version and try that with the proper patch.

I brought my ios up to date - Sequoia 15.3.1, uninstalled Rocksmith and reinstalled.  Ran Mac patch 1.9.  Game loaded and played non-cdlc song just fine - went to the one cdlc in dlc folder and froze after tuning again.  Geez...

I see why this site is bleeding off so many mac users.  A few years ago I wrote a guide to getting and using cdlc on a mac for this site because of the lack of dedicated mac support and concise information written for laypersons.  There seems to be a need for a troubleshooting guide for mac (not just go look in the threads - but a step by step guide to resolving ALL issues) but I do not have the technical expertise.  Thanks to all who have tried to help.  Not being bitter but no reason to come back here if game doesn't work... 

We have the Mac patch developer on the Discord, that's where most people go for help these days in my experience.

I'm going to be honest.  I went to Discord and I am too old to figure out what to do there or where to go...  That is on me, just did not grow up with technology.  Maybe I will try again when I have more time and patience.
