Hello everyone!

I recently have had a few problems with the Digitech drop pedal on Rocksmith. What happens is that I would plug it in like normal, with both cables in the correct jack, yet absolutely no sound comes out of the guitar cable I use for the guitar. I've tried to test out different guitar cables, but to no avail. The Rocksmith USB cable works fine too if I just use it without the drop pedal. The only time it would produce a sound is if I would either, plug the guitar cable in as the Rocksmith one is plugged into (it would just play a faint distorted sound for a second then stop entirely), or if I would press the "True Bypass" button to which it would do the same. I figured it was a problem with my pedal at first, which would mean I had to buy a new one.

However, when I tried my brother's pedal, which works fine (he has played it recently as well and it works), the same issue would persist, I figured maybe it's with my power supply? I tried his and to no avail either. Because of this I concluded that my pedal might not even be broken either.

So far the only conclusion I have reached is that it may have something to do with my sound drivers, since not long ago I uninstalled one of them in hopes of fixing some external problems with my microphone not working. Maybe it might influence the connection the USB cable would make with the Drop pedal and stop it from transmitting the sound through it? Who knows..

Have any of you guys encountered a similar or the same problem? I can't wrap my head around what would cause this and would like to know your guys' opinions on it or any potential fixes because if I spend another 100 bucks on a new drop pedal and it doesn't work, then its money well wasted 😕

Any advice or opinions are much appreciated! 😄

Are you using the standard DigiTech Drop pedal that only has the power jack, and input/output 1/4" jacks?

If the Real Tone cable works fine without the pedal in the signal chain, it's not likely to be a driver issue. And if it works when using the bypass switch, it's not likely anything before the pedal, either.

Do you have other ways of testing outside of Rocksmith? Like a DAW or amp sim?

I'll own you one day. 💜 If you would like to support me by donating, I always appreciate the help.

Thank you for the reply!

Yes I use the standard one, but it doesn't ever work is the issue, it makes no sound at all other than just noise that lasts only a second when I plug the Rocksmith cable itself in or when I press the bypass switch (it's just one sound that lasts for a second, and then it stops working entirely regardless if it is plugged in, kind of like when you lightly tap on the jack and it makes this distorted sound). The Rocksmith cable works fine if I don't use the pedal and just plug that one in my PC and play it like normal. I may have an amp somewhere to test it out other than my PC, so I'll reply to this thread again once I've tried that out 😄
