Hey everyone.

Had the game installed with all the mods running fine for years, then one day a couple months back this year the game wouldn't load past the first screen before it crashes out to the steam menu. No error message or anything. I tried a few of the on line solutions like fresh install and loading the secret steam build from the developers and nothing has worked so far. I'm running an asus zeypherus g14 w/ 3070 mobile. I have a scarlet 414 as my DI box and am running win 10 pro.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Other users were saying RSmods broke around this time in August.

You have to use the correct version of the .dll with the correct version of the game build. Using the .dll for the updated version will not work with the beta version. There is no real need at all to use the beta version. I am not saying don't use it, I am just saying that there is no real need to do so.

You are going to have to make sure that you are removing every mod, using the correct version of the .dll. You have already tried doing a fresh install, I am thinking something was left over of the mods and was not deleted before doing the fresh install.

Now that the Learn and Play version is in the store, I do no know how will this effect the download for previous build owners. It should not effect it at all if you own the previous version. If Ubi and Steam messed up again, I do not know what version you are getting while downloading.

Try to get the game to work first before adding any mods at all, including cdlc and the enabler.

Been trying to get the game working and no luck. i've uninstalled everything  and I can't get it to work. Any advice?

Make sure you are using a non-beta or previous version code for the the game. If so, are you getting any .mdmp crash files in your Rocksmith folder?

Hi everyone,

I think I've the same problem. I bought RS2014 today on Steam and it has never worked. When I launch RS, I see cloud sync and button come back Green. I tried to install CDLC : install successful but  game not work ever. The difference is a white screen appears few seconds while launching and disappears. In my RS2014 folder, I have MDMP files.

Different problem, different version than the Original Poster.

You should get the game to work before trying to get CDLC to work.

MDMP, that is good, as Phantatsy is good at deciphering those.

There are multiple people right now with an issue with the new version not working. There have been multiple threads. Some have already been closed. I can not answer that portion, you will have to consult with a Mod with that. I am just a guest like you. You might as well just leave it here for now, if the mod wishes to join it to another thread that is up to the Mods. I am sure when you posted your situation that you had no idea that it was a different situation than the OP's problem with a different version.

As they and the developers are still working on solutions, give them a few days to see what transpires. Head to the How to use CDLC thread, and see for yourself. Again, try to get the game to work on its own without CDLC first, see if it works before running the enabler as you said that the game never worked. Hang on to the dump files for now until @ Phantatsy asks for them.

Either upload it to Google drive or something, or you can join our discord and drop the file in #support

File requires access, you should be able to change the permissions/privacy of the file on Google Drive so I can download it.

Looks to me like a software conflict. I would start with (re)installing DirectX 9 from: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109

Hey everyone. I figured out what was wrong but I don't know how to fix it. I was using a focusrite scarlet 414 to play rocksmith with minimal lag. For what ever reason, now the game won't start while I have the audio interface plugged into the pc. I unplug it and everything boots just fine.

I do want to use the interface and have had zero issues until recently. Does anyone have any suggestions?
