Got the solo down, still made some silly mistakes on those walkdown things

Bass Nightwish  99.13%
That's pretty fast for me but I hung on and we got there

little improvement

 

Weirdly enough this was my first attempt on SA today. I tried over 15 times to improve this score but it got worse and worse in the end I got so annoyed from the random open string misses. This might be my final score for this week, at least I got the platinum pick!

Improvement, but it was sloppy 

I'll get the first two ones out of the way as they aren't really my thing and I spent most of this week on the Advanced and Masterclass songs!

Now, Nightwish...

Symphonic is probably my favourite subgenre of metal and this is the song, and album, that got me into it. Pretty fitting choice seeing as a new Nightwish album was just released (still not sure what I think of it!) but I played the hell out of this song this week. Tried as best as I could to break that 99% but this was the closest I could get, the powerchord riffing in the second section always caught me out, bit hectic in there!

As a little tip for anyone struggling with moving to 0-2 on the 5th and 4th strings, just play 5-7 on 6th and 5th strings, much easier to get into the groove off the riff and to keep playing the 2nd fret notes on the 6th string.

Thought I would include my 2 best results for this one. One of those bittersweet situations where I got a higher percentage on the attempt that I also got a strike on. This is another great Blackmore song with tons of fun riffs dotted about, the end section where the tempo gradually increased is a real workout and I know I'll come back to this more and more purely as an endurance exercise.

Gave this another go for the hell of it, sweeping is my kryponite but at least I bumped my score up. What a band though, had never heard of them before last week and they've accounted for 80% of my music this week. Alley cat has been living rent free in my head all week, proper earworm.

 

This week's guitar is quite difficult even beginer song. 

So I can't upload.

That main riff I played terrible, is that all down picking?

a bit better! I managed to play the mc bass song without my arm falling off!! 🤩

Yes, really good band, I discovered them about a year ago. Since then we played in the championship long composition The Great Escape as GOG and Unbreakable. Both are difficult but fun to play. Overall I mostly listened to the albums these songs came from and I really like these thematic compositions.

I made a small improvement here by 1%🙂 It's amazing that I'm still leading in GOG despite my poor score. Many masterclass players disappeared somewhere and competition decreased...

It should really slow down instead of speeding up at the end, doesn't seem fair this way...

I always have some problems with charts based on fast jumps power chords, so I'm happy with this score, I can't improve much.

I think it could FCable with some more effort 

great song! a lot sweeps and runs (which obviously I cant sightread or probably even play after studying them) but always very melodic
