I purchased Rs in 2012 or 2013 purchased rs2014 in 2014 and got import tool I believe free promotion at time I purchased rs 2014  import tool been on here on my game for over 10 years went to play Good enough from tom petty not on Rs2014 anymore nor are any of imported songs from Rs. import tool shows.  inrs 2014 properties shows I got it 4-24-2014 but when i go to re download it takes me to steam store and wants me to purchase?  is there anything I can do to get it back or do I have to pay? which to me would be some B.S.  Appreciate any help

You don't need to download the import tool. Those songs are contained in the rs1compatibility files.

If, for some reason, those songs aren't in your game anymore; you should be able to just delete those files and re-download them by verifying game files.

Thanks I just backed up checked file integrity which found all bad/missing files restarted steam and just loaded all good..  Thanks for the reply 

And I want that Purple Schecter too..

Hah, it's a custom shop I designed in photoshop. They never got back to me on a quote, it's been like 5 months.

Just for reference,  if you also wanted to import the 2012 base game songs  into 2014, you can still purchase this  import tool https://store.steampowered.com/sub/32387

as said before though,  the 2012 dlc songs themselves do automatically import into 2014.

That would be dope. Tell him it's basically a Solo II Platinum with stainless steel frets and MOP Nikki Stringfield inlays, but with black hardware (because I don't think they make satin chrome locking tuners)

I have a question. So, if I want to get all songs from DLCs from the original Rocksmith, I should buy the Ultimate Time Saver from the original Rocksmith and then use the disc import tool for Rocksmith 2014. Am I right, or do I just misunderstand something?

All of the original DLC [songs] from the original Rocksmith is out of the Steam Store. There is no way to purchase it now, Nor the Rocksmith original game.

If you already have the original Rocksmith, you can use the disc import tool to import the BASE songs that came in RS1 into Rocksmith 2014.

These 5 songs do not transfer from Rs1 to Rs2014:

Chris Lee - Boss
Cream - Sunshine of Your Love
Eric Clapton - Run Back to Your Side
Seth Chapla - Jules
Seth Chapla - The Star Spangled Banner

 as far as the Bonus Songs:
