Not been using CDLC long (about a week in fact) so bit of a shock to find no longer on SA but thanks for picking up the baton.   :cool:

Wow, like so many of my fellows in this community, I was shocked and saddened when I'd read about Smithy's. The CDLC's were pure gold and had greatly renewed my interest in the game and my guitar, no question. It was a surprise to learn about SA... but what really disheartened me wasn't the idea that I'd not find any more CDLC, but that the new and truly wonderful, helpful  and friendly community I'd so recently discovered would be no more.

 

Then I saw the link to this place... amazing work, and crazy fast! That is truly outsanding! Congratulations and huge thanks to Unleashed2k and the many others that have helped to get this up and running so very fast.

 

I'm so looking forward to this new/familiar community. We all have something very special here.

Gutted about Smithy's Anvil. Will still visit there regularly but glad the customs scene will continue to thrive over here!!

Hey everyone and welcome! I like many was a SA user and was let down by its end.  However, I do look forward to oppertunity to begin a new gathering place for all of us! I think growth is the thing to keep in mind as it will start slow but expand exponentially in no time...If we all learn from the past and work together we can be better than SA was in no time!

 

I have changed my name from SA  (GuitarAddiction) although I was fairly quite till the end. I'll be much more active here; Seeing as how this is something that well have to build together.

I do think it's important we learn from past mistakes. It seems the key one being " be tranparent in any finiacial matters"...thanks being said!!!!!!

Wow...go away for a few days a what happens.... It's a shame about SA... the site and the folks over there really spurred me on to moving forward with adding my own DD and looking into creating CDLC (and starting lessons...)  I hope for the best.  Kinda sad I missed day one donations here (missed on all counts!) but the funds are in and I look forward to following the site develop.

I was so pissed I actually thought about packing up my guitar and saying fuck it. But then this forum popped up and  my faith was restored..

I always seem to come late to the game. At least this time, I'm getting in on the ground floor! I don't really know any of you, as I had just gotten started over at SA, but from what I had experienced there, and what I see here already, the cream of the crop, and the true spirit of SA is alive and well here. This is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

Wow. I go away on business for a few days and the world changes on me. Thanks for getting this set up so quickly. I've been really impressed and gratified by how helpful, supportive and thoughtful the vast majority of Smithys contributors and participants are/were. Looking forward to helping this community of music lovers.

Well, I read the post from the steam community, and gotta say I am really glad I had a "6th sense" moment and chose not to donate to SA.That being said, I enjoy our community, and really hope the creators and members all follow us here.Here we go =)
