Hey all,
So I've begun trying my hand at creating CDLC but I've fallen on my first hurdle fairly early on. I've been trying to create the tab / sheet in GP8 for some songs that I'd like to work on, but I find it quite challenging. I understand some basic music theory but I just can't ever seem to get the timing right for the individual notes. The notes themselves sound fine, but the timing is always off by a fair bit. If I then adjust the length of the note, it's either too long or too short.
I've tried working on this mathematically (calculating the length of the song, then comparing to the BPM, then calculating how many notes should theoretically fit inside each bar, and determining the length of each note from there) but no luck so far.
So really all I'm asking for is any advice on how best to approach creating the tabs in GP8, from anybody who has charted CDLC before or is familiar with this software and has created tabs previously. Or, alternatively, anybody in general who has a firm grasp on music theory who can offer me some advice on how best to approach this.
Thanks in advance.
