Does anyone run RS 2014 in a VM?

Just thought I'd ask before i get this setup in case people have tried and I'd be wasting my time.

I had a thought that I could set up a VM with Steam installed and Rocksmith and then set Steam to be offline / block Steam and RS via a firewall.  I'd obviously never get updates but at least RS_ASIO would never get broken again.

I'm guessing that a VM running on my 2021 PC would have more power and lower latency than any machine that existsed in 2013 but I suspect that no update from this point on is going to be anything I need or want.

Happy to report back if this is something people might be interested in?
