Dynamic Difficulty changing at different rates

So far I've gotten as far as installing the CDLC and repairing my song list with the CFSM. I feel like I'm so close to getting Rocksmith to work the way I want.

On the CDLC song I'm playing, I started at auto difficulty with Dynamic Difficulty on, but by my 5th playthrough some sections increased in difficulty and some haven't, so the song is now alternating between a medium difficulty and a 1 difficulty throughout the sections.

Are there any known bugs with dynamic difficulty on CDLCs / CFSM or is something else causing it? I'm an intermediate player so I should be hitting all the notes up to difficulty 5. I'm pretty new to Rocksmith PC though... Another thought I had is maybe I'm playing the verse right but missing chorus notes, but I haven't been playing long enough to figure out if that's the case.

Any help or links to relevant posts would be appreciated.

I could be wrong with this since I don't really use DD much but RS levels all sections with the same phrase up together so I think if you play the song it might level up things that repeat a lot like verses faster than something like a solo which only appears once, assuming you're playing at a consistent standard throughout and the song has phrases done correctly.

There's some DD settings in the options that can change how fast it levels that might be worth looking at (or you can set the default sight read value to difficulty 5 if you want) but you could also just manually level sections that are falling behind in riff repeater.
