What am I doing wrong ?

When I import the guitar pro file it places the first note about one minute into the song.When I try to  adjust the notes by dragging the arrow to the left it scrunches all of the bars together and screws up the bpm.

    First off, have you set the beatmap? If so, lock it down. If you haven't, set the beatmap first.

     

    Then, don't drag the notes. Instead, copy all of them (select-all and copy), then delete them. Now, move the cursor to the beat where the part starts and paste there. This should line everything up (if the GP file is accurate).
