@ diceslinger - well done! I did consider buying a 12-sider quite few times, but finally decided as long as i cannot make my 6er sound any good, i´ll wait. Can you recommend it really?

It is a different beast.  To begin, the tuning is a bit of a pain, tuning 12 strings, each to be in tune with a pair.  But it sounds like a chorus of angels when it is in tune!  Second is the fretting chords.  You have to push down quite a bit harder or you get fret buzz.  I have carpal tunnel issues, so I worry about that.  I have an Ovation 12 string, and the rounded back design tends to want to slip away from you.  I don't think I would have bought the guitar until I was better, but since it was my dad's I'm not giving up on it.
