I like to do normal exercises, but the most fun way to learn a technique is to play along with it in an actual song. The features in Rocksmith for practicing make it ideal for this kind of practicing in my opinion.
What are some good songs for the following techniques?
Tremolo picking
Sweep picking
Economy picking
String skipping
Legato
Bends
etc...
So far my favorite songs for practicing are the following:
Ensiferum - Ferrum Aeternum is a great beginner song. An intro track to a metal album where hand position stays the same (between 7th and 10th frets) with lots of string changes and some string skipping.
Ensiferum - Little Dreamer is my go-to practice for tremolo picking with string changes (the second part).
I'd really like to find some more good practice songs for an absolute beginner like me. Thanks!
