Rocksmith 2014 Championship Week 27

Da Rules

(Credit to the Ubi Forums for some Ideas!):

1. Anyone may join the contest as long as he's a forum member.

2. You can play "Score Attack" On Hard or "Learn a Song" with all sections mastered (all purple): You may also play a song which does not have DD on Score Attack easy if you cannot get through it on hard as all the notes will still show up on easy but it won't X you out as easily.

3. There are three classes: Beginner, Intermediate and Masterclass. If you enter to the contest the first time, you choose your class.

3.2 You are then leveled automatically as follows: 3x =>90% (3 weeks in a row) or 1x 98% qualifies you for the next class. If you score <=79% on a level two weeks in a row you are leveled down one class. You may choose to follow this rule or not we are very laid back on this rule as some songs are either easier or harder so if a given song in a class is too difficult for you please feel free to enter by playing the song you feel comfortable with.

4. Both instruments are leveled separately.

5. You may only enter in one class per arrangement. (Bass, Rhythm, lead) but you may participate in all available arrangements

6. One Song is chosen for all Instruments and classes

7. Every Saturday new songs are chosen. From all participants of a class, one is chosen at random by Kaijin, Krazyone or Richomat.

8. Every member should put the song he/she would choose in the Song Selection List

9. Only 1 song per class will be selected and only custom DLC's with at least 1 arrangement for guitar and 1 arrangement for bass are allowed. Also Originally included DLC may be selected as well. NO OFFICIALLY RELEASE DLC is supported at this time. .

10. You only need to change the song in the list if you are selected. If not, you can keep the same choice, or choose another, it's up to each one of you.

11. On Saturday, if your name is picked and you didn't entered any song in the Song Selection List, another member will be chosen.

12. Starting with the publication of the songs, you may enter your score.

13. The scores are entered in the corresponding google doc: Leaderboard Kaijin, Krazyone, richomat and afterdark take care of entering the scores.

14. You must post a screenshot with your score showing the Accuracy %.

15. Ranking is done by percentage first, then by Longest Streak.

16. If you play LAS (Learn a Song), you percentage will be always, xx.00%, if you prefer SA (Score Attack), your percentage will always be xx.xx%.

17. You may choose any song for your class as long as it's provided on the forums and has at least 1 arrangement for each instrument.

18. Every song is up for discussion until Sunday around 23:00 UTC. If you think a song is to hard, please let us know in the thread, so we may discuss it.

19. After Sunday 23:00 the songs are set and are not allowed to change.

20. The contest closes the next Saturday around 18:00 UTC

21. The winners are announced in the OP of the corresponding week's thread.

22. Rules may change without notice. So watch out.

Well, I bought Rocksmith 2014 in February and that was the first time I had a guitar in my hands.

Out of interest.. How many people competing here take regular guitar lessons?I'm starting to look for a guitar teacher.. Not sure what to look for.Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

You can improve a lot with rocksmith as long as:

You need to play alone the songs by memory without the game.

You play the songs in master mode.

In master mode sometimes don´t bother playing note by note. Just make it sounds good with same variations.

And this is my word to you!

Let´s Rock

I not take any lessons, all free time play in rocksmith and have a lot enjoy. Love different sound my guitar with effects, a lot play song what i learned taked only fun, jam session 20% time for fun. And do not worry about what I can not play Hangar  N18 by Megadeth. There is a lot fun songs which i can learned. And over time i see, what i can more and more their to learn.  Way learning very long, and i thinking what  key for nailed hard song  - it is only a lot time with guitar in hands.

When i started  play in Rocksmith 1, i barely got into notes on simplest song like Black Keys Next Girl and The Dead Weather "I cant hear you"

hahaha sorry my English

Need some practicing... especially the solo part

@@Hostilian @ Thanks guys for the encouragement but I'm just taking a break before I turn this guitar into firewood :)@@diddie17 I'm not hugely competitive either as you can see from my previous weeks scores and like you, I see the improvements that others are making which makes me feel like I'm standing still or going backwards! I'm just not enjoying playing anymore. The issues I have with this kind of song is that I simply cannot keep up!  For example on this song I can play the first section in RR perfectly at 70% usually 80% too but any faster and I just get into a mess.  I have the same problem with any song with a solo like this!I'm currently at 54% for this song, no need for a screenshot :)

@@Collision I play somewhere 600-650 hours in Rocksmith. When i start im too thinking : OMG how i can play, very fast, much notes on different frets and crazy shift hand. But i find joy in play very easy a song, then step by step level up song, returned to easy song for rest, and again to more complicated song for hard learning. I play (learn) song Bon Jovi  week ago on 4-6 hours every day for win :) it  was not seat oneself and won on 1 hour.

Play with slow speed 80% one section in RR,  then when no mistake add 1%, after summary >30 repeat change section RR,  it all repeat every day. It will not in 1 hour, it can take 3-4 day (need rest for hand and fingers).

You will see your progress on next day or two, may be 3 and surprised. concentrate on one song.

Well this is the most difficult solo i saw in my life

So i gave Beat it another chance today.  And to my surprise it worked a lot better than last time.  So i upped my 45% accuracy to a whopping 81%.

So if you get low scores on the first try and think its impossible. Try a few more times or try again another day. It might come around for you.

I have to clean my playing up ALOT on this one. I get missed notes all over the place. Thats why the score sucks but the accuracy is decent.

Intermidiate a song is easy, Need little to work for >98% on intro and palm muting in middle song. It ok for my, no time for hard to work. A song is good as music, a tone too.

Taked score for start:  Accuracy 95.4%.

@@Smile What it is your version? Did  you to compare with new version, is in your vrs.  good tabs ? ( your version E standart).

I think in this tabs, in D standart, haven`t all notes .

ps. Nice, you play it on Master dif.  :) Good score.

Hi all! For long time I wanted to take part in this activity but waited for nice song. I didn't knew Metric and I have to say that this song is really nice.

http://i62.tinypic.com/335bf5t.png

I had bad time at first chord section, still I got lucky here and there so it was a little better then I expected.

I scored more points on next playthrough, though with slightly worst accuracy (chords worked well, but I was making some silly mistakes), so I'm not posting it.

@@Smile Is in your vrs. song in riff  part in middle song additional notes (high note maybe on 3 string)?  II hear them between phrases with palm mutes

I too more like D tuning (And Drop D), I need again to change strings to 10-56 :)  Thin a string is bad to detected RS, because press strings to frets a little changing tuning to up.

Intro rhythm  part song very hard for my. Almost 90% accuracy only summary.

You beat me in Lead challenge :)
