Break it down, figure out each of the four picking patterns the song has and practice them individually. Picking patterns don't really come along in electric guitar music, but they are beginner+ level stuff in acoustic guitar playing.

I admit, it's hard song to start working on, but easy once you have tackled the picking patterns. Just because it's hard to start, doesn't mean it's a hard song.

Hey @@Gamut, you might wanna check the leaderboard again, because I think Hawkins actually won Inter Lead. Also, meelo came top in Advance Bass.

Where did these ratings come from. This week is way harder than last and they are rated lower. Burn the Light lead is one big long solo. Its fun though. Has a medieval feel to it.

Slowly slowly slowly! That ratings are correct! Supergroove can be argumented to be a 5 as well as a 4 - but i personally would prefer 4, also.

Btw those ratings come from week 122 - and did stand the test of time through a whole week then.

 

For both the above - yes, sightreads will yield in horrorly low scores here, BUT!:

It is basically only one riff! and there is a week to learn it. If you will take the time to learn the riff using RR and slowing it down or just memorize and learn outside of RS - then the scores will be very very good soon.

Take two!

I can kind of play this pattern at my own pace, but when it comes to full speed, I can't keep up my fingers get lost. 33% to 52% is a fair jump though. Who knows where I'll be at the end of the week.

Yeah, 4 seems about right. Some of its randomness threw me off a bit. Also, I didn't like the song at all after they started "singing".

The chromatic sections went a lot better on second attempt. Those are a lot harder to play in time though as they are played so much faster than anything else in the song.

This was even harder, and even with all the work in the world i would not be able to play it.

 

 

 

Picking pattern confused my brain and the stretches made my wrist feel dislocated.  I really need to find a better way to play that.

Getting a late start this week. 

 

Shorter edit.. and still ten minutes. If Rhoads was a midboss we've surely reached the final boss of guitar with MJR. What a guitar god. 

 

I think I've played Iconoclast before though I can't remember how it went.

Me too, having the same exact problem.  That and the other change....you know...the first one.  And the second one.  And the rest of them.  Yeah....all of them really.

:lol: Soft acoustic playing is always harder to start, since you can't go with full on sight-read only mode, but you'll get it. I'm sure.

Had an hour on bass. Don't really like the songs this week so I won't be playing much, instead, will try to learn The Police song.

WTF is this... but I was really surprised by the score. No way I would ever want to memorize these kind of songs!

 

 

 

Can't do this on score attack unless I actually learn the 2h tapping parts. Song is great and fun to play but I'm just super lazy about 2h tapping on Rocksmith because I really need to look at my hands while doing it so I'd need to memorize the entire section.

Freaking better....

Really have to sit down and study how to play those first and fifth + first and third -patterns the song has. Failed at those miserably on a guitar as well.

So I played the long one as well. Two-handed tapping on a bass. What kind of an animal starts like that! At least the pattern is simple enough, although I just can't remember when to tap 12, 13 or 14. Always confuse those
