Really have to sit down and study how to play those first and fifth + first and third -patterns the song has. Failed at those miserably on a guitar as well.

So I played the long one as well. Two-handed tapping on a bass. What kind of an animal starts like that! At least the pattern is simple enough, although I just can't remember when to tap 12, 13 or 14. Always confuse those

Not for nothing, it's essentially still the same song, just all rests have been cut off and the long melodic phrase at the end.

And at this point I thought I should check out what other kind of songs Amorphis has, since I've never really listened to them before. So why not this way? I mean it's only 75 minutes and I didn't take any breaks. To my surprise, I knew 3 out of the 12 or 13 songs the album had :D

I Cant hold those stretchy chords for more than a few seconds.  So i just ignored them and played it all like single notes while shifting around the fretboard.  It was easier, but it sounded wrong.
