First go went surprisingly well.

I got encouraged to try the SA. Nice and long streak from the beginning... and then the solo came.

So I went back to LAS.

The rhythm track got a lot easier. I can do the intro-riff at the beginning of the song, but I seem to lose it when it comes again at the middle of the song. Exhaustion kicks in!

@@Rodman, you were right about those multitrack versions. Lonely, but brilliant way of playing!

Can't pull that C-shape barre fast enough, so I went for the usual A-shape barre.

@@meelo Have the same issue with Comfortably Numb rhythm track.  It started ok, then it just turned into a stream of misses.

A tiny bit of progress.

Comfortably Numb on bass = 98.48%, with a 50% higher score than last time.

This is a really hard chart.. I can't even try to do the hybrid picking.. I'm just faking it with a sweep mute(ish) picking technique. It doesn't always work and note recognition is a real problem. I'm making some good progress on it though. I think there is a chance to beat this in SA.. but it'll be tough..

I finally felt like I could try Score Attack.  Still got an X!

Hmm, only 7 misses. Could be about 4 more, since I stupidly stopped pressing down on third fret at one of the parts where it goes E333333 D5 E22 E11, but I don't think it counted any of them as misses. Judging by the mastery on MaZtoR's performance, I think he had 5 misses.

I was supposed to try and practice the lead and rhythm solo parts today, but that 99 % was too close on bass. That rhythm part during the solo is also darn tricky, as the beat goes up to 208 bpm. Even though the finger placements are not that hard.

Reckon with just a little practice I should be able to get it up to 95%. Most of what I'm missing seems to be the parts leading up to the solo

Wanted to try master mode, but really needed to hear the backing track to have chance of staying in time, so I had to play the regular track. Again, great streak, but worse playing

And passed master mode on my first go, which was a surprise. Screwed up here and there, but I mostly remembered the section changes.

I am pleased with these Metallica scores, but there are couple of parts that still need a lot of sanding to make it sound good enough to play out loud :P

 

Solo speed is still a bit out of reach.
