Congrats to all winners. Well done!

This week's songs are:

Lead Path:

Beginner:      Motorhead - Louie Louie (3)

Motorhead? Beginner? With Fast Eddie's solo? Yes it is a reality :)

Intermediate:  The Beatles - Help! (4)

One of the biggest classics of one of the biggest bands of all time.

Advanced:      Scorpions - Wind of Change (6)   (@PC Plum's version)

Big song that happened when communism was leaving Europe to give us some freedom.

Masterclass:   Santana - Europa (8)

How long it took us to finally play some Carlos Santana? Way too long. Prepare your bending skills, 'cause you will need them.

God of Guitar: Racer X - Scarified (Eb Standard) (10) - we are going to play both Lead and Rhythm as a GoG - winner will be selected by the best sum of both arrangements!

Don't be scared, try it at least  What an amazing and short instrumental. I wish you all 100% here one day.

Rhythm Path:

Beginner:
Motorhead - Louie Louie (2)

Beginner 2:     The Beatles - Help! (3)

Intermediate: Scorpions - Wind of Change (4)

Advanced:    Simon & Garfunkel - A Hazy Shade of Winter (6) as played on week 84

I know only two S&G songs and that's one of them. And it's so good.

Masterclass: Pantera - Cemetery Gates (8) (official song) as played on week 148

Pantera - one of the greatests metal bands of all time. Sadly, on June 22nd, Vinnie Paul, Pantera's drummer and brother to late Dimebag Darrell died. Week 250 is a great way to pay a tribute to him.

Bass Path:

Beginner:     Motorhead - Louie Louie (2)

Beginner 2:     Scorpions - Wind of Change (2)

Intermediate:  The Beatles - Help! (4)

Advanced:     Santana - Europa (6)

Masterclass:    Racer X - Scarified (Eb Standard) (10)

You should always take finger position in customs with a grain of salt. Play the bend with a pinky, having the 1st finger on the 7th fret.

Happy with the way I sounded playing this one, however, piles of misses marked in the strumming.

I feel I'm getting worse at playing in general.

I tried GoG, but it's just pointless. Not knowing what to do and randomly hitting roughly half of the notes. You are a beast or it's not fun.

For me the racer x lead parts are too fast for me to sight read (at 100% accuracy) even at 1%.  So, I have to make a guitar pro file and work on it there (if I am to have any chance of getting it to sound correct.)

Is there any way to make RR use something less than 1%?

@@Fandaru I found that winds of change to be pretty tricky and you destroyed me on that "Where the sky ends" tune in week 247.  I spent hours trying to catch you and I could not.  So, just keep at it.

I hated Royal Republic prev. time. I hate it this time too.

UPD: OK. I hate every song. I guess I need to stop.

It's a shame the bass isn't fully transcribed on this track, would have been more fun if it matched the original a bit better:

This one is insane! Don't think I'll try to get a better score, I'm happy I got through it without any Xs:

@@MentalSharps, I got thinking about this last night and slowed the solo down to 80% to listen to myself on the solo.  First, your playthough sounds pretty good!  Mine was pretty ugly sounding, and it made me appreciate how good yours sounded.  Second, how did you record yourself isolated?  I've been toying with that idea, I know the sound from the game masks a lot of junk in my playing, so much like you I'm ready to start going for musicality rather than a high score in the game.

Great choices this week!

I'm trying to focus on making the solo sound "good", musical rather than just correct hitting the notes. Any solo I play always sounds like crap so far if I ever listen to it on it's own. Any tips appreciated   :).

This is a clip without the backing track, best I can get it sounding after a couple hours.

I don't have any tricks, but I would like to offer you encouragement.  Don't give up, play through the plateau!  Remember, you play for enjoyment, so don't forget to enjoy playing!

I feel I'm getting worse at playing in general.

RS was very forgiving with note recognition in my case, and well, I have to say I got that big run and then never went near it again. I had luck and my playing wasn't clean at all. I was not happy.

I am rarely satisfied by my works and achievements in real life and I am my severest critic. And now, about my guitar skills, I think I should get back to basics.

Winds of change is very hard to me because of chords, I am really sloppy at them. The thing is, the tune is quite slow so it is frustrating not managing to adapt. Some RR would surely do, but next week, again, same problem. I'm not truly learning to play. The Championship should be my exam, but I am try-harding without studying, if you get what I mean with all this moaning.

@@diceslinger If you enter the menu while in learn a song, there is an option for "Mixer" and you can turn the music volume down and keep the guitar volume higher to hear it isolated. I play through an amp into the PC though, so I have the rocksmith guitar volume muted as well, but it's works the same. Find it quite harder to get the timing right relying on the visuals rather than the sound I think :).

The recording software is called OBS Studio which is free, and not too difficult to set up. It's been helping a lot though with doing solos and trying to develop my ear, to record bunch of plays through, then going back and watching the replay and listening and getting a better sense of what it sounds like to over-bend or under-bend.
