Amazon has Rocksmith 2012 download for 15.00. Will it allow me to get mac dlc on steam?

Rocksmith 2012 is now $15.00 on amazon for download but I have a mac.  I have heard you need Rocksmith and the import tool to get dlc from steam but since I have a mac I won't be able to open Rocksmith on my computer when I download it.  Will steam recognize it?  Thanks in advance for any information.  I don't want to buy it if I can't download dlc and it won't be recognized by steam.

    I think you don't need to install the game, just register it with Steam. After that, you can buy the import tool. But, if it's true they didn't make mac versions of the RS1 tracks, that won't help you out much...
