  • Hi all I'm a real newbie here and the Championship songs have always scared me, even the beginner ones, but finally, this week I'm able to get on-board :)   I can't get the image to show, sorry. So he

There will most probably no entries from me this week. I got a new processor and motherboard and windows won't start anymore.

I need to move my my dual boot system onto the (also new) SSD. Linux was easy, but Windows insists on reinstall. It is still unhappy with the partitioning of the HD, it says.

Actually Windows can reject activation with new CPU and MB.

@@Anwyn Is windows unhappy with the new drive partition or does it not like the processor change? If it's the partition, what software did you use? I've swapped the OS drives before and recommend using macrium reflect. If it's the new processor then you're best option might be to copy all files onto another drive and do a clean windows install then copy and reinstall any files that were originally there.

HA! HA!

I'm an IT consultant. What version of Windows do you have?

Your issue is most likely due to MBR/UEFI boot. PM me for details

@@Vodka, @@ZeroPingNZ, @@Stark_Knight, thank you for the advice and kind help offers.

I'll manage. I have a degree in CS. Not that it helps much, but I have a pretty good grasp of the principles and I have always built all my computers from the ground up. I even use Gentoo Linux, if that means anything to you.

The thing is, that I do not enjoy this kind of tinkering as much as I used to do. After a work day at the computer, I'd rather play guitar than fix the machine. But I'm too much a perfectionist to settle with a half assed solution and I brought it onto myself by purchasing the hardware. At least it will be fast when it finally works. :)

Have played this song a few times now and still don't know what I'm playing.  Its just a bunch of random notes for me.  Might have to listen to this one without my horrible guitar getting in the way.

Also.  Did not want to end in last place beginner.  (I'm not saying that is a bad thing to do.  But i should be over that time in my playing)
