Has there ever been anything from the devs on how they chart songs or what software they use.

 

i was just thought about it.

The software they use are made in house and we only had a few screenshot once on the RS forum where you can see that the interface is not that far from EOF display (there's some major difference though but the overall look is kinda similar).

 

As for the way they work, there's no real secret, they are doing the transcription, listening again and again and doing research on the artist habit and work to end up with the chart.

... as there is a lot of legal stuff going on, don´t you think they are getting the charts from the artists when available?

@@Rodman Everytime it was ask the answer was simplly "no". The only thing they get from the right owner/artist is the album artword and the lyrics.

 

They had on very rare occasion possibility to talk with the artist or the artist was actually part of the notetrackers but it's an exception and shouldn't be considered as something they do all the time.

If i ever had any of my songs in RS i would completely give the stems and the tabs for my songs, not like i made any songs yet because i still have no hope in finding a singer or drummer :D

That's all that seems to be available that i know about but as you can see, it's not that far off from EOF main display (though it's not impossible that the rest of the software is way different).

I hadn't seen those screen captures before, but to me a piano roll did always seem like a sensible user interface for this kind of work.

 

The color coded strings and thicker measure markers might be fun and easy for me to implement. Is there any interest for that?

Nice to hear they don´t have real advantage.

Wow,maybe it's just me but thier software is look complicated to me than EOF :D Just by the look of it

@@ShrillBear52 On some aspect maybe but it probably makes it easier on many aspect and also allow them to do some stuff we can't do with EOF at the moment.

I'd be disappointed if their tool wasn't more efficient than EOF at making DLC for their own game. Supporting different games with different features and requirements does complicate things at times.
